Drifting at Barkeston Heath January 24th

With plenty of snow in the region I expect a few of you have discovered the pleasures of drifting for yourselves.

Well if you want to do it safely then the next event is on Sunday 24th January at Barkeston Heath in Lincolnshire.

Book through Javelin Track Days for £89.00 or come along for a passenger ride

Great day out so lets see if we can't get some more of the Eastern Region going Sideways this year (Martin)

That's tempting, I love Barkston. I'll check my bank balance and my stack of spare tyres...

Not Good Jamie, for the first time my car let me done.

Had trouble selecting gears after the first session and had to call it a day, Didn't even wear any tyres out. The weather was great and conditions perfect but that's life. My car has been brilliant so I can't complain.

We bled the clutch system there and that improved things but after a couple of laps it just didn't feel right and I was struggling to select gears and decided to head home.

After reading the forum it seems that it could well be the Slave Cylinder so I have ordered one from MX5 parts which should be with me today. I hope that sorts it as I am booked in Lotus on Track on Sunday at the North Weald Airfield activity day.

    Fingers crossed

...and I didn't go because at the moment I can barely drive, much less pick up a wheel.

     Kev,

Had a dose of gear selection woes on the way up to Andorra in the pyrenee's mountains, a re-bleed cured it then, but i do have a new spare Clutch slave Cylinder in stock if you need one till it comes, just let me know.

    Whats up with you CM?

Re: Drifting at Barkeston Heath January 24th

Thanks Jamie for the kind offer but as usual MX5 parts delivered as expected yesterday.

So last night the boys and I got the car up on the ramps and sure enough the fluid was leaking from the Slave Cylinder. The new part from MX5 Parts was an IL Motorsport part and did the job perfectly.

I now have a lovely clutch pedal feel and can have a great day on Sunday.

Thanks to the boys for there help.

It was a knackered shoulder, but now it's two knackered shoulders and one knackered hand. NHS has given up so I'm going to give the problem a good hard BUPAing next week.

I am on some terrifying drugs which while not actually fixing anything are at least keeping my mind off the problem. Fingers crossed for fix before summer starts...
