Can one of you guys help me out?

Does anyone local know how to get wires through the doors into the cabin? I've tried today (fitting central locking to Mum's car) but it's just impossible!!

use a single wire as a draw wire and then tap the others to the single wire you should go through then ok.

if this does not work i will see if i can help you

It's a mk1.

paul:

I tried this, I managed to get a draw wire through but it was really hard and once I'd taped the wires to it, it was far too big to fit back through the grommit.

When i have done this in the past i have pulled the rubber boot back away from the car and the door,undone the tape that holds the rubber boot to the loom and popped the plastic ovel ring(if i remember right they should split in half,so you can move them out of the way) off the car and the door also just to make life easier.

Just refit in the same order when you have the wires all through,the drivers side will or should have 5 wires to pull through,and 2 on the passenger side,depending on the kit?

But all in all,it is a fiddly job to do.
