After the 5 - this is what I bought...

Well a few of you may recall I sold my lovely red Eunos S-Special, and was considering a Honda S2000 - well it all went sadly wrong!

I bought a £750 Fiesta 1.4Si as a cheap box to use whilst I found the next car, BUT, Mrs Goof took one look at it and fell in love! - I've driven it 3 times in 3 months!
It got "claimed", and I was given her Mondeo Ghia X TDCi instead... so the idea of a 2-seater went out the window as we need a decent sized family car...

Soooo, I've been mooching about, and sold the Mondeo and bought this:-

    2004 S-Type 2.7 V6 Sport with all the toys and 47,000 - it's in A1 condition, and it's completely gorgeous!

Pick it up next Saturday, just need to buy a tin of travel sweets, car rug, cushions, and a box of tissues for the rear window! Wink

No MX5 - waiting for the right S2000

    Not sure about DelBoy - "arthurdaily" did with a X-Type V6 2.5 - we've been in touch, and there's a decent Jag forum - http://www.jaguarforum.co.uk/index.php

    No need, Jags have AC.

Very nice - can see why you would like it after being an MX5 fan - both modern interpretation of classic English motors - Jag MK2 and Lotus Elan...

Just had a baby and managed to keep my Mk1 MX5 but bought a Golf as a family car - its very bland - should have gone this way instead - lot more stylish...

    Mine isn't. Sorry.

Back on topic: I met some of the vehicle engineers from Jag and they were really obsessive about steering. Not just feedback, but weighting and response and all the other fiddly bits that you only get to find out about when you've spent decades working on steering. Amazing guys, and I assume their products reflect they abilities.
