Back on topic: I met some of the vehicle engineers from Jag and they were really obsessive about steering. Not just feedback, but weighting and response and all the other fiddly bits that you only get to find out about when you've spent decades working on steering. Amazing guys, and I assume their products reflect they abilities.
I had an S-Type. Sadly it handled like a drunken milkfloat. The XJs were all pretty good, as was the XJ-S, but the S-Type had a US Lincoln chassis to contend with....
