Alloy wheels again... sorry (pics this time)

    Folks,

Would still value your opinion. I've done a quick and dirty photoshop of my car with various size wheels in lieu of being able to try them. What do you think?

Here is my car on the standard 15"s

Here is my car on the 16" BK 550's I rather like the look of...

Here's the car on the same wheels, but in 17s...

To my eye the 17s will mandate lowering, but the 16s perhaps not? the 17s also don't look like they'd be that forgiving on the ride side and a look a bit OTT to be honest!

    Decisions, decisions...!

    Cheers,

    Drew.

Mods so far : Chrome dashboard bits, wing mirrors and door handles. Clear side repeaters, reflectors. Mods planned : Chrome windscreen surround.

Drew, there's too many spokes for my taste.

    Just a bit bling!

    I agree it's 16s not 17s

     Those wheel look lovely. Wouldn't like cleaning them though.{#emotions_dlg.confused}

I've got the same as yours, and I'm thinking of changing to 16" in the summer

Have to agree with the above - not a big fan of the wheels myself (but if you like, then go for it)

There are only a handful of 5's with 17 inch wheels that don't look odd, if you ask me - go for 16s

Re the bling - mid-life crisis...!  Stick Tongue Out No need to reach a consensus on the style - it was the size I was most interested in.

I agree. I think the 16s are the way to go. As for the spokes, I'd have a set of wire wheels 60s style if I could Embarassed (but mega bucks unfortunately.)

I *really* liked the Mk2.5 special edition Arctic wheels, but can't find any at a sensible price and they are only 15" too, this seemed a close match.

I think the standard spec 5 spokes are nice enough; but to me, 5-spokes are so 1995!

What is nice, is, being such a small car, even 16"s look like 18"s on bigger sports cars.

    Cheers,

    Drew.

I went for 16's and it hardened up the ride just enuff. A mate put 17's on and it was waaaayyy too much........ruined the ride and handling.

Love those wheels.......BUT, remember, you've gotta clean them sometime!!

i have 17's myself, i'd say go for those then improve the handling with a nice set of coilovers

Re: Alloy wheels again... sorry (pics this time)

    Does look good Wayne! Cool

I like the idea of coilovers but the $$$ situation will take a while for that to be on the cards, so I'll have to live with the standard suspension for a while.

I also spy some cheeky red calipers in there. Is that an upgrade or some strategically placed paintwork? I've always loved colour-keyed calipers. Might do that myself.

    Cheers,

    Drew.

Re: Alloy wheels again... sorry (pics this time)

     Update on this. :)

The Bk550s seem to have been discontinued so I've just gone for some Team Dynamic Jet Silvers in 16". These have less spokes and are slightly more practical, and will hopefully show of the planned red calipers too. Also got them wrapped in Yokohamas. The pic below is 17" but you get the idea.

    Cheers,

    Drew.

    Yeah! Thumbs up

But, again, common sense dictates something you can clean... sigh.

Glad you like folks. Should be delivered in time for the weekend, but whether I'll have time to swap them over I'm not sure. Will post up pics when it's done!
