HI ANY POSTS ON FITTING A RENAULT LAGUNNA FRONT SPLITTER TO YOUR MX5 IVE READ IT A FEW MONTHS AGO BUT CANT FIND IT NOW ANY PHOTOS OR LINKS THANKS

I bought a Laguna splitter off eBay last week. It was listed as muddy but in very good condition, however it was deeply scratched so needed some prep work. I sanded it with wet and dry and I might still fill the deeper gouges with filler.

Fitting it was a PITA. I made cuts around the corner parts, but it still bent and wasn't a perfect fit (anyone would think it had been made for a different car!) Plenty of self tappers later and a few screws repositioned later and this is the result (sorry about the quality of the pics, the camera was on the wrong setting and I didn't realise  )

Lots of screws so it follows the contour of the bodywork


A bit bendy on the bottom before the slits were cut on the underside and before the screws were tightened up properly.

I need to cut a little bit more onto one side as I cut it 1/4 inch too short )

I painted it with plastic primer and then satin black spray cans shortly after.

I don't have a clue. I got it from eBay.

i just fitted renault laguna front splitter looks like it was made for the car ill get some photos next week posted it was the vented type off a 98 model recomend this mod

mk 1 vented off 98 model i just finished fitting mine looks great like it was made for the car get some photos on next week

I know it's filthy, but dirty ones go faster.

 Looks good, you just need to lift the bonnet, grab the headlight lids and pull them upwards until they are proud of the bonnet when it is closed, then push them back down again until flush

 DOES THIS LOOK BETTER I PULLED LIGHT COVERS FROM BACK UP THEN CLOSED BONNET THERES NO BOLTS TO LOSEN IS IT THANKS

 Just bought one of these (previously cut to size for the MX5) and am after some advice on how to fit it. Do you just use self tapping screws straight into the bumper or do you drill holes in the bumper and screw into some blocks of wood?

I drilled the bumper and the splitter and then used loads of hefty self tappers through the holes.
