Made sure all drain holes were clear and cleaned out throttle body - very exciting to see all the ****** come out of the exhaust. Then gave her an 'italian tune up' :)

Been a busy boy one way and another.

Got the air filter swapped out having taken advantage of the K&N offer at MX5 parts, got her cleaned and gave the rain rail a good clean (could have grown potatoes in it!) and the drain holes flushed with muc off and a good dose of clean water after a rod through with some coax (nice diameter and good and flexible just the job!) and this morning she got dropped off at cavendish classics to have some bodywork cleaning up undertaken ready for donnington next weekend!

 just touched up a stone chip on the front number plate plinth ready for the weekend, (SWM stand at Shelsey Walsh Hill Climb)

just the clutch to replace and that's another one finished!!!

chased up local mazda dealer again (not returned my calls for last week)  to be told the key code that came with my mazda/mcgard wheel nuts isn't valid ? 

Managed to free said nuts, bought two new non locking nuts as a temp fix, rang mcgard in germany sourced new key for half the dealer price inc postage,

Finally got to drive car again  whoo hoo ! 

Started up my new engine.. ...... Got a 'grinding noise' from around the water pump area.. ....... Sounds like a bearing breaking up..  ...... But it's a new pump (Quinten Hazel)..  ......

Oh well, as if I havent got enough to do.. ....... 

Got up at 0550.. drove to Leeds with the lid down. Did three hours work. Drove back with the lid down. 425 miles today and, yes, a little sunburnt! Awesome!

 Saw the Chrome wrapped mk 1 at Billings last year looked great.

Found the problem regarding the 'grinding noise' from around the water pump area, I'd dropped an M6 nut behind the pulley and it was jambed there! Engine now running sweet

(yesterday) switched back from winter steelies to summer alloys
new rubber going on in a couple of days

Removed my soft-top so I can try and glue the glass back onto the plastic frame. Any suggestions on what to use??
