    Re: GT-5 Nights (Chat Topic)

Some brilliant pictures again guys !!! ..... yeah I think it'd be a good idea to leave the pics off of that last corner GTP. haha.
Looking forward to having a blast in the Mk2's with the new wheels.

Has anyone downloading the new cars ? Looking forward to have a blast in mine when I get the chance.

Also thinking, it looks like at somepoint maybe we should have a photo comp .... also, reckon we should see at least one or two of these
in STHT in the photo competition ??

Not bothered with the new cars but gone for the new test track so far.  Its a bit like in old GT games.  You can do 0-60 times, 1/4 miles times etc, which is fun tweaking settings to improve performance.  Its a massive oval circuirt if you wanted to race in it, but even in a fast car takes about 5 mins per lap so wil be a bit dull in a 5.!

Some pics from Monday, managed 2 very flukey wins. Was an entertaining evening with some very close racing. Mk2s are a bit more photogenic now that we can change the wheels!

Looking forward to the Mk3s next week

That last track was actually a lot of fun ....... some great drafting going on.

Thanks for the warm welcome, we had fun.  It was son bed time when connection failed at 8.55ish, so made sense to call it a day.

Had to keep telling him - these are real people, you may even meet then at Blyton, PLAY NICE!

Anyway possibly c u next week.

    Re: GT-5 Nights (Chat Topic)

Hi Ian and Jack ..... you're more than welcome. It was great to have another new racer aboard.
We had another couple of new racers on last night, so I hope you can all return for more of the same.

A couple of the regular hardcore racers were not online last night so it was fairly quiet.
We've been having a few issues with the connection over the last couple of weeks, but this is down to
the GT5 system 'mainly' rather than us, so hopefully they'll have an update soon that'll sort this.

Had a couple of amazing races on Spa at the end of the night. The finish was litteraly won by thousands
of a second, and how we managed to get three MX-5's pushed to the max and driven by three
adrenalin filled racers without taking each other out on the last tight chicane was quite something !!
That's one replay that will be saved for quite sometime !!

    Re: GT-5 Nights (Chat Topic)

That last chicane was epic, I was grinning all the way up the hill and when we ALL got out the other side for the three way drag race to the finish line the grin had changed into hysterical laughter, certainly one of the replays I saved last night. :)

Started doing some testing for next weeks endurance race only to realise after 40 odd laps that I was in my modded MX5 TC... Really should give them different colour schemes!?!

Very Modded '85 Mini City driver, (sorry).

Had some of my best races last week around Spa, was brilliant. Was looking forward to the Nurburgring and then my connection went weird and it wouldn't let me back in , so annoying.

Anyway here's some pics from Spa, v. close racing

Looking forward to next weeks enduro, mind I have enough trouble stringing 2 tidy laps together let alone a whole hours worth.

    Re: GT-5 Nights (Chat Topic)

    Good fun....Thumbs up

Sad  I was on about lap 20 hoping I could finish without pitting, but the tyres were shot, it was the fronts that went, and car wouldn't turn in meaning lots of running wide, going off and some short cut penalties, and then losing a precious place to R Robbie... should have changed them when I had a bit more space. What's the news from the parc ferme ?  Was the gentleman from the continent who won running a stock car? Wink

And what's current ruling on ABS ?  It seemed like its all down to the driver now, so I had mine on this week, as the TCs are a bit tricky without it.!

    Re: GT-5 Nights (Chat Topic)

Firstly, the ruling on ABS is that it is allowed, but only at a maximum of 5. I felt that not having ABS was making the cars too unpredictable under braking
and I think it'll give the 'less experienced' racers a bit more of a chance. Sorry, should have made that official, but I can add that to the race regs now.

I must admit I do think that the winner 'may not' have had a totally legal car ? That's one of my gripes with online racing, you can set up a load of regulations
but there's no real way of policing it, unless there's some way of checking that i'm not aware of which is quite possible? Without pointing any fingers I think we
have a couple of regular racers that are not running a 100% legal car ? It could well be that they've spent lots of hours setting every single little thing and tested
them to squeeze every horsepower out of their cars ..... this is what i'm hoping is the case.

The first endurance race seemed to work well though and i'm going to make it a regular thing now. Next race will be in the original NA's with the same spec as
we run at the moment. This will be run on Monday 5th March. I'm going to set something up so pit stops will be required again. I'll run this on a 5 week rotation so we
get to races all the cars in an endurance. (Mk2's will be VERY interesting) !!

    Re: GT-5 Nights (Chat Topic)

cool, yes ABS makes the TCs driveable for me..Thumbs up

Setting a pp limit must make it a fairly level playing field (but I have to engine limit my TC to comply still though) but do tyres effected pp ?

Can you race cars online that have been borrowed from other players ?  You could have a garage full of 5s, all set to standard config and all racers have to be your friend and borrow those to race ? It makes it a more complicated process but certainly on endurance would level things up completly, maybe? I asume you can't buy parts for a borrowed car but can adjust legal stuff like suspension ?

Normal short races maybe not so critical but on endurance a small advatage will make a big difference.  So, how about even running endurance with unrestricted cars ? Certainly if you used TCs for endurance again there is not a lot of mod you can do to those anyway so may just be easier to have a free for all...
