    Re: Daves Latest Roadster

Thought id post my latest desktop picture......The white one with it`s big sister

I`ve also changed the style bars / windblocker AGAIN after finding a set of the genuine Mazda ones so the single seat racing style roll bar & the IL Motorsports TT style bars & windblocker are both on Ebay as we speak!

I also had a nice trip down to Autolink last week to get it Waxoyled & a few other jobs done like replacing diff oil & gearbox oils etc. Kind of a service of things not usually covered in a service really as no doubt most of the fluids were almost 20 years old!

    Re: Daves Latest Roadster

Couple of small additions this evening.

I`d already replaced the front reflectors with clear ones but as the original orange ones were wired up as flashers i replaced them again with a set with bulb holders & connected them up!

Well it would have been rude not to!

Postman Pat also bought me a front grille & a nice RX8 gear knob so fitted those while i was at it!

One more thing i`ve been after for ages on it`s way to me sometime soon but it`s 150 miles away  :wallbash:  so watch this space

    Re: Daves Latest Roadster

Well patience is a virtue they say & after months of searching i finally managed to track down the Mike Satur style bars i`ve been after. I always regretted selling the set i had on my green Roadster but new a set would come up for sale eventually.

So after a 300 + mile road trip uop Norf to collect them at silly o`clock yesterday morning i set about removing the OEM set & fitting it.

These are so well made they offer much better bracing than any brace bar i`ve ever seen & the glass windbreak is hindged so can be folded down when not needed.

In fact IMO if Carlsberg made style bars..............

    In with the cross brace

    On with the chrome hoops

    Up with the glass windbreak

Polished the hoops & cleaned the glass & suffice to say i`m a happy bunny  Big Smile I even gave the car a wash to celebrate

     Dave

I have to agree on your rating of the Satur bar. The only bit I didn't like was the gap underneath, so got

a piece of carpet fitted with studs to clip on and hide the gap, not sure it shows very well but this is the best pic

    I've got

    Re: Daves Latest Roadster

Good idea Ian Thumbs up I did similar out of an old tonneau cover on my last one but can`t find it now & it was tan anyway so no good for this car. It fixed to the studs on the cross piece & secured to the carpet with Velcro.

So i`ll have to track down an unwanted tatty black tonneau cover from some kind soul to chop up Big Smile

Your track-dog is looking more bling-mobile mate Wink

Looking great, any plans to get it on-track anytime soon?..

Cheers for the tonneau offer.........PM me & let me know what i owe you!

Looking very nice! If you ever fancy de-tangoing your front lights and for some unknown reason then fancy repeating the procedure, let me know and you can do mine hehe

Have to agree. Everytime i look at that picture i think i need to de-tango the front lights.

I`ll probably buy a set sometime already done though....take the easy way out.

Big thanks to Jon (Peleton72) by the way for the tonneau cover.......Seems a shame to cut it up. Very much appreciated Thumbs up
