Re: Next ER Event - Suffolk Steeplechase 29th January 2012

     Hi David

It was grand talking to you and the rest of the gang this morning in Hadleigh. I believe that we did mention that we're not the best at map navigation and true to form we got lost along the way and decided to cut our losses and proceed to the George for an early lunch - hopefully the manager handed you the note we left but this email is "just in case".

Anyway, thanks for the chance to visit all those villages and also for putting us on to the George as a really good place for Sunday Lunch.

Hope to see you again sometime soon.

    Dave and Beryl

Re: Next ER Event - Suffolk Steeplechase 29th January 2012

     Hi David

Raine and myself would like to thank you for a really great day out. It was Sunday and we went to, not just one church but twenty two, most where called St Marys and all very much well hidden.

Although we live very close to the area where the Steeple chase took place we visited places we had never been to before and drove through some stunning villages and thoroughly enjoyed our day out.

    Thanks

    Geoff & Raine

Re: Next ER Event - Suffolk Steeplechase 29th January 2012

    Well done David and thank-you,

What an excellent start to 2012. As a Norfolk boy, I didn't realise that Suffolk could be so gorgeous, even in winter.

Had a really enjoyable day, although at times we appeared to be going in the opposite direction to everybody else Confused

Re: Next ER Event - Suffolk Steeplechase 29th January 2012

Thank you all for coming today, only sorry that the weather wasn't as good as we could have wished for. It didn't seem to dampen your enthusiasm though. Though there are no prizes other than bragging rights the people with the lowest mileage were  Andrew and Melanie on 43 miles proving, a bit of local knowledge doesn't go amiss. The mileages for the others are as follows:-

    Ray & Wendy 51, David & Karen 51, Colin & Julie 52, Bill & Sue 53, Mike & Shirley 53, John & Ann 55, Pete & Sarah 55, Geoff & Raine 56, John & Tracey 57, Ann & Mike 59, Martin & Sharon 59, Katie P 59, Lynn & Mike 61, Robbie & Kate 62, Steve & Jo 63, Becky & Pete & Carol 65.

Sorry that you got your cars dirty but as we all know half the pleasure of owning a 5 is washing and cleaning them after a good run out{#emotions_dlg.smile}.

Once more on behalf of myself, Elaine and St Mary,

    Thanks

Re: Next ER Event - Suffolk Steeplechase 29th January 2012

    Hi David

Many thanks, had no idea that so many little Suffolk villages had beautiful little churches tucked away inside them, super run, will be well worth bearing in mind as a "Run" for an empty weekend in the Summer.

Once again, many thanks, well done.

I said that was going to be a "cracking day out".

A massive thanks to David for organising the event and to the 40 poeple (20 cars) for supporting it. Great changable roads and a good route followed by lunch at a great venue. I quite enjoyed stopping the cars and getting out to walk to some of the out of the way Churches, it meant we got to chat to each other on the way round. I know some people were getting really quite excited about some of the church porches!!!

Re: Next ER Event - Suffolk Steeplechase 29th January 2012

Thanks to David for a most enjoyable tour of the Suffolk countryside.  As you know with all events you need a back up team and that was us, last as usual.  Well done to those all those who did better than us.  Looking forward to seeing you all on future runs

    Peter, Carol and Becky

ps The church porches were pretty amazing
