    Replacement MP45 Supercharger Air Filter

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement filter part for the supercharger intake? The one fitted to my car was toast:

    Thank you, J

I looked on Moss' website and they don't seem to list it. I was planning to give them a buzz tomorrow but I would also appreciate you having a look in the shed as a back-up plan.

    Cheers, J

    999-030
    Supercharger Air Filter Element
    1.6 & 1.8 £24.95
    €28.69

I'm not sure if this is the square one or a complete replacement cone filter though. I'm going to go there in person to buy the bits and check they're right.

Have you seen my plea for a nearby member to let me look at their tensioner installation on another thread? http://www.mx5oc.co.uk/forum/forums/t/38066.aspx

Before I part with a large amount of cash it would be really helpful if I could pop over sometime and have a quick look at yours?

Please PM me if thats OK.

    Regards,

    J

Or, this would a perfect time to upgrade to a DDM Works isolator box and air filter. Had one on my 04 and absolutely loved it!

Re: Replacement MP45 Supercharger Air Filter

I buy my superchargers bits from Gary at Trackdog (US supplier).

He supplied a different intake (basically a 45' silicon bend with a K&N style filter. Much better solution to get the cold air from behind the headlights rather than above the exhaust.

Re: Replacement MP45 Supercharger Air Filter

From what I've seen it can be cheaper to get JR kit posted from the US than buy from Moss but I've got some stuff to return so the credit from that makes up for it.

I've looked into the cold intake and was thinking of either copying Trackdog's intake with components from demontweeks or fabricating something similar to this next winter utilising a vented headlight lid and the JR filter:

    http://www.mymiata.paladinmicro.com/MiataJRSC.htm

I wouldn't use air source though, his car is USA LHD so he doesn't have the wiper motor on that side (or the danger of a Q-Plate for cutting the monocoque).

By the way, thank you everyone for the support and advice on my first proper posts. Thumbs up

    J

     Hi Rob,

Thanks for your help the other day, I've picked up the filter from moss and it's the right one (square with one funny corner).
