Just metal, rubber and plastic. Remember that next time it won't start or the heaters take a bit to warm up and you start to say " ohh come on old girl!" we all do it. So either we're all mental or think a little more of our cars than that! Like someone else said on here give it a bit and you'll have forgotten most of the bad times and want another one! Smile

     Sorry off topic but....

    CambsMaz:

Good grief!!!!! We are talking about a car here - a collection of metal, plastic, rubber and oils - not a family member!!!

It is a form of transport - nothing more, nothing less.  I am sure the little old lady in her Morris Minor enjoys the drive to church; like-wise the sales-rep also enjoys his drive in his Astra.

If I ever get emotionally attached to a car and start calling it "she" then I shall call for the men in white coats.

When it comes to sell mine - I shall just do that - sell it get something else and enjoy that.

    Really.

If you just see HER as a car? why join a club for a one make car ?for a passion and love for a single make car??

Hard words for someone that also has a passion & love for their roadster like most of us on here.

As for the the OP, you will miss HER,, a windscreen is a windscreen and is down to the joys of driving,my Mk 1V.S II ,SHE is on her third, ,roof is just down to young d**k heads who know no different , and deserve everything that goes wrong in their lives, tyres? do you have snow tyres or winter tyres fitted ,as snow tyres that are not on snow ride like jelly.

Joined to find out more about the car, tyres, insurance recommendations, servicing and such stuff.  However, very little on a Mk3 compared to a 1 or 2.  When the time comes my membership will not be renewed and will probably pop in here now and then.  Not a lot here for me - others will get far more out of it then I could - different strokes for different folks and all that.

Info for the Mk 3's will start to be posted up soon, your throwing in the towel to soon, think just how old now the First and second versions are now, for owners around the world to have hit the same problems to be solved and shared, the same will happen with the Mk 3's.

But then again it is just a car to you ,so what do you care???

Re: The Love Affair Is Over

Wow! I wrote my little piece, went off to work and returned late that evening to find it had all kicked off!

In my naïvety I had assumed my words would only be seen by the Mexicans, didn't realise they would be read by so many other people. Nor had I realised I had written anything which would create something of a furore!

I actually ended up feeling sorry for Cambridge man, he so got the wrong end of the stick as I will explain to him in a PM.

Thanks to all you Mexicans for your kind comments - my membership still has some time to go so I will pop in and say Hi! from time to time and, Mark, if you want me to arrange another skittles evening I will happily do it.
