Hi all...I'm new to the area and wouldn't mind coming along to this.  I may well have a new set of coil overs fitted/to fit so will need an alignment doing.  Is the space still free?

    Hi Oberon305

No Problem I have added you to the list.

Do you want these guys to fit your coilovers?

They are already doing a MK2.5 on the day and are charging him £50 + VAT which I rekon is a bargain. They could do yours and then do the alignment and the jobs done.

    Let me know

    Kevin

    Kevin

Thanks very much......I may as well let someone fit them who knows what they're doing!!!  Please book me in for fitting the coilovers and alignment.

Look forward to meeting you all, see you soon.

I did have all the colour flyers at the meeting on Wednesday but wasn't allowed to talk about it.

    kevallen:

It was because I didn't run it past the area co-ordinator for approval and he felt there was a clash with a Tech Day planned at the end of March which hadn't been confirmed when I booked it.

Kevin, please get your facts straight. I believe I did say, when we spoke on the phone that you could talk about your alignment day at the meeting but I wasn't going to. You are correct in that I felt there was a clash. I also did agree that the event you organised does have significant benefit to members.

    Hi Tim

For that money it's not worth getting your hands dirty.

I will put you on the list with the coilovers as well.

    Cheers

I only asked for an address last time I posted - honest! Anyway, I think I know where I'm going now!

I assume that I may be able to ask these nice guys to take off my tyres, re-bead-seal and then replace before refilling with nitrogen as they do seem to leak somewhat?!

Looking forward to this now - how far is everyone travelling btw? Who is coming the furthest?

I reckon the nearest person has to get, say, top quality bacon butties and the furthest, say, 'value' digestives - kind of a pro-rata contribution depending on mileage travelled?!

Also, what about some kind of thanks to our hosts? Maybe a 'Gates' model MX-5 mounted on a wooden  block with an engraved thingamajig saying 'with special thanks from the MX-5 Owners Club'??

Can you tell I have had a beer or 2 this evening? lol!

Plenty of time yet but not a bad idea to get them ordered.

What coilovers are you going for?

Sorry Ian, that drifted (excuse the pun) off subject a bit.

They will be happy to sort the tyres for you, they may charge a small fee but seeing as its £10 to change the brakes can't imagine it will be a lot.

I like the distance challenge although I am not sure I am able to organise Bacon Butties (any Volunteers for this?)

I like the idea of the gift for these guys (are you volunteering to organise this Ian) as they really have gone out of their way to support this. I saw him yesterday and he told me they had to get a special license as they don't normally trade on a Sunday and it has residential properties near by.

They are all very excited about the day and he has organised a few freebies for everyone who comes along.

A beer or two always liberates a few good ideas.

    Can't wait now.

haha .... I must admit I did think that seemed quite a long time for 60 miles, especially for a Sunday morning.
Looks like me and Andy will both be bringing the biscuits ..... whereabouts are you in Halstead Andy ?
