    Blyton Bash 2012 - June 30th/July 1st

I've recently recieved an email from Jon Smith, the Club's motorsport coordinator trying to gauge numbers for the Saturday night party at Blyton. I know it's a long way off but if you're Eastern Region and plan to be at Blyton on the Saturday night for the Hog Roast please reply below. I'll probably be going up on the Saturday morning early and getting a B&B (not camping as previously advertised due to space limitations). What are your plans?

Here are a few links to the event forum that Jon sent over.

    Re: Blyton Bash 2012 - June 30th/July 1st

I'm going - I'm not sure whether one or two nights camping but will aim to take one or two small boys (hopefully able to go on some laps) and maybe one wife (certainly wouldn't want two!) and that will determine the number of cars I can take!

Jon is putting a massive amount of effort into this and is taking on the equivalent of organising a National Rally on his own so I am more than happy to support him in any way I can.

With my Committee 'hat' on, this is a big commitment and undertaking for the club and if successful could prove to be an inaugural event to build on year after year. It is also a big financial commitment but unlike a normal rally, recoups some of the cost from member participation.

With my normal Member 'hat' on, it looks to be a fantastic event and the opportunity to be part of a world record attempt on the Sunday!

For any apprehensive members who have never been on a track before, don't worry - you already have one of the all time best 2 seater sports cars in the world ever and your pride and joy just loves playing on a race track with it's mates!!

    Bring it on!

I also intend to be there for the whole weekend and will also be wearing many hats, and no doubt a helmet or two as well.  Looking forward to it. Thumbs up

It's the intention to have Project Merlot on track all weekend so opportunities will exist for both drivers and passengers.  Details in due course...

Sounds like a great weekend with plenty to do, we will be attending for the weekend and camping for one maybe two nights as we will be heading off to the Lakes and then Scotland when we leave and praying for some nice weather.

    Re: Blyton Bash 2012 - June 30th/July 1st

I have decided to make the ultimate sacrifice (missing GFOS Sad) to attend the Blyton weekender. Biggest challenge will be fitting my trackday stuff and camping kit in the Roadster.

Is there going to be camping on the Friday night?

Really looking forward to this; track action, camping, roast piggy it's all there!

Which is why I will be there too.

Would be good to camp overnight Friday and be ready for a full day's action on Saturday.

I'm up for this. Not sure how to fit 4 wheels and all the gear in an MX5.

Would like to go to this as well, would be nice to liase with the other members to see when the vast majority are heading up there, as I will probably be flying solo.

Good idea Paul, perhaps we can discuss this at the next meet.

Places are limited to 100, not sure what the take up will be but assuming all those interested get a place it would be good to go up in convoy.

Which reminds me Kev, having had Rusty for 2 years and having done 30k in her, I was just wondering if the air freshner is still covered under warranty? Big Smile

Knowing you as we do, you can only feel sorry for that air freshner an what it's had to cope with over those 2 years.

Sorry accessory items aren't covered under the comprehensive warranty that you took out at the time of sale.

You don't want to buy a nice white Honda do you?

Wendy's not keen on the Honda, I love it but there we are. So it's a comfortable estate car.
