    CLUNKY GEAR SHIFTS?

I have owned the MX5 for less than a week and I noticed that the gear shifts are very clunky and not smooth like the previous cars before. It 'feels' clunky but does not 'sound' clunky if that makes any sense?

I checked the FAQs and I wasnt too sure if its to change parts, just add gearbox oil or something more serious?

    Re: CLUNKY GEAR SHIFTS?

Sometimes for "clunky" read "Precise". Mine is clunky in the morning and frees off after about a mile or once the oil has warmed up. I have changed the gearbox oil and changed the turret oil but the issue persists. I have decided that it is one more of the wonderful attributes of this superb motor car. Just don't force the stick into gear, let it feel its own way until it is warm. There are quite a lot of people on here who have the same experience.
