So it would be a "sensible and safe" idea to leave the co-driver at home Wink

Re: Spring Welsh Run..... April 15th

     Had a horid 2 days,

Decided to swop all the water hoses and a new radiator and fit a thermstat to the oil cooler,

Shifting the 19 year old hoses and rad was a ball ache, had to take the charger off to get at some of them.

all fitted and undertray on ,oil filled new coolant added and she fired up ok,

left it idling for 5 minutes whilst checking for leaks...all ok

took it fo a bit of a blast, at a little over 60 mph up hill the oil temp was just starting to show

and then the oil presure plumeted down to nowt.

A quick look under the bonnet showed a loose hose to the oil cooler "DOH" only opened when the oil was hot and I lost it all.

Helen the friendly rescue brought me 5 lires of spare oil and i finger tightened the hose just to get me home.

2 hours latter it all done and several standing starts and a few trips to high speed showed all to be OK

    So tommorow we will see.....
