QPS Turbo Kit - Anyone know anything about it?

     All,

Spotted this on ebay.  Wondered if anyone knew anything about them.  Search doesnt bring up anything.  Seems a good price maybe? If they do one for a mk2 1.8 I'm sort of interested possibly......

Would be interested in peoples thoughts?

£1500 will pretty much get you a tried-and-tested turbo setup.  I wouldn't spend the same amount on something at which is at development stage from a firm I've never heard of.

Assume you mean the base non intercooled kit from FM or BEGI? Or do you mean cobbling a kit together myself?

Only a base kit, but one which is known to work. £1500 is a lot to spend on something which you know nothing about.

But on the other hand it might turn out to be a total bargain, I guess it all depends on your philosophy!

I note they say they have no ECU solution which i find strange since if you are putting more air in the cylinders you need more fuel too? A good ECU like Megasquirt can cost £1000

For a megasquirt, more like 4-500 and someone on the nutz forum will build you one to suit your exact requirements and provide forum/e-mail support to help get it running. Search for 'reverant' he is very good from what I've seen.

Re: QPS Turbo Kit - Anyone know anything about it?

This QPS kit actually looks the best of the ebay ones I've seen. The biggie is the quality of the manifold build, if it's rubbish and cracks it will be a waste of money. For not a lot more you can have a begi/fm base kit which is a given known i.e it will work! The QPS could become an option but you might not want to be one of the first guinea pigs to use it!
