Re: Old Buckenham Airshow Sunday 24th June (Updated)

Thanks for organising this David, we had a great day even if a bit damp! Car now all cleaned Big Smile

Thankfully we didn't need the help of the cadets to get out either but they all did a good job.

Thanks for arranging this event David, it was a good day, despite the rain and mud!  Here's to more fun, but ideally in the sun! Cool

Re: Old Buckenham Airshow Sunday 24th June (Updated)

Many thanks David for organising this - I had a great day and the weather picked up just in time for the air display so perfect timing!  And wonderful company as always. And yes a softtop is THE accessory for an airshow - top down and just look up!  The cadets were brilliant, helping everyone out of the mud, 3 cheers for them! I have a nice photo which I will try to add here later - can I upload directly onto a post?

With careful application of the accelerator and 2nd gear I managed to crawl out unassisted.  I think I took most of Norfolk with me in my wheel arches, so I just had time to wash it all off before the footie...

    Cheers

Just want to add my thanks David, Great job and you got us a great spot.

Only thing you couldn't fix was the weather but even that wasn't so bad in the end.

Great day out and I think we had the best display of cars as well. Looks like we had the biggest club presence by far.

Well done David, more of the same please.

    David,

An embarrassed apology for the no show and complete lack of notification. I could conjure up some elaborate story but the absolute truth is that I totally forgot I had committed to it. Embarassed I blame a fractious baby and a nagging wife for my forgetfulness, for what it's worth...

Thanks to Kevin who pointed out my failings, and I understand you or the other attendees were out of pocket? Anyone who I owe money to please PM me and I will PayPal you all...

I'm off to punish myself accordingly.

    Paul.

Re: Old Buckenham Airshow Sunday 24th June (Updated)

Can we add our thanks to David for organising the day.  Luckily the rain stopped in the afternoon and we had a great display of aircraft  which we could watch in the comfort of the car with the top down.

The publican at the Gamekeeper pub in Old Buckenham saw us there and said if we let him know we are meeting there another time he will open up at 9am if we want tea and coffe.  Handy if we need it in future.

Re: Old Buckenham Airshow Sunday 24th June (Updated)

Thanks to David for sorting this event out.

Really enjoyed it, apart from the mud, just put my trainers in the washing machine Shock Great company, even with Carole giving me the running of Smoke on Smoke off. Attack, Attack, Attack Stick Tongue Out. The highlight for me has to bee the Spitfire (having owned one myself Wink) and the Mustang. I think this could be a gower for next year, if we could pre book the weather!!

    Thanks to everyone

Many thanks David for organising the day.  A really good turnout from the club, good to see some old friends.  Sorry we had to leave early.  Henny is still traumatised  as she got wet.  Let's have more of the same (without the rain of course). Smile

    Hi Paul,

Apology accepted, we didn't want to wait around for too long as we were booked in on a time slot. As it turned out the parking organisation was a complete nightmare. Don't know

On the positive front we did make it into the main show area all be it initially separated. Hitting head on wall

Thanks to some persuading I believe by Pete and Kevin we all ended up together. Thumbs up

Little organisation to do on my part, just the gamble of fronting the ticket cost. Bearing in mind the initial weather It was a superb turnout, you were the only one unaccounted for so only the one ticket outstanding. The difference has generously been sorted so don't worry these things happen.

    Hi Carole,

Only just got the mud off mine Angry

You can upload (as my pictures) but it has to be via a host web site like Flicker or Photo Bucket. The proceedure is a little long winded to explain here but I believe it is posted somewhere on the Forum - Personally I prefer Flicker as no annoying adverts popping up and a lot easier to use.

Re: Old Buckenham Airshow Sunday 24th June (Updated)

Thanks everyone for the comments, really little input from me this time around. (my first attempt at being involved at the front end so to speak)

    Notes for next year:

    1. Get it posted on the official club calendar so we can literally fly the owners club flags.

    2. Ensure the Show organisers have a specific area for us.

    3. Book Tea and Coffee at the meet point.

    4. Take the sunshine and blue sky with us.

Hope everyone has dried out now and the cars back to their sparkling best, you are all truly a great group of people and we look forward meeting you all again soon.

    David and Nicola.

It was nice to be part of the day too, really enjoyed it!

There was really something cool about watching an airshow from a car with the roof down...amazing!

Hope to see you all again,

Thanks David - I will use the ER photo bucket then.  If no-one has put a folder up for the event by the time I get round to it tonight then I will add one.

    Cheers
