I have a nearly new pair of genuine carpet mats for my recently purchased mk1 1997 and there are no retaining clips forthe drivers one- it slides under the accelerator which is clearly hopeless. Any ideas where I could get a pair? Seems daft to pay 30 quid for new ones!

 Im curious to this one ? Are there clips to hold the floor mats in place? My drivers side mat runs under the left foot rest and moves each time i step and out of the car. so the mat folds up close to the pedels and really anoys me.

Yes there should be a small clip under the front of the driver's seat to hold the rear of the mat in place. I'd assume a mazda dealer would be the place to try...I can't see one on mx5parts. Maybe Autolink might have a used one.
