Hi all,
The plan this year is a scenic drive across the Peak District, finishing at Rudyard Lake (near Leek). The day is a balance between driving and the destination attraction. The drive is roughly 50 miles, and should take no more than 3 hours including a break. This gives plenty of time to explore Rudyard Lake.
I've summarised the day below, and will bring a handout of the route on the day:-
Meet from 10am for a 10:30 prompt departure from McDonalds at Markeaton Island in Derby (DE22 4AA).
There will be a comfort stop part way at Tissington.
The route completes at Rudyard Water.
Rudyard Water has an excellent website here. Upon arrival people are welcome to do as they please - there is plenty to do from taking a ride on the steam train, to walking and the visitors centre. There should also be boat trips on the lake.
Please let me know if you are attending by either by replying to this thread or contacting me directly.
