Off (MX5) topic – Dramatic Shelsley pics – driver ok

I'm sure that a few sprinters on here have been up the hill @ Shelsley.  Here is a pic of one of the L7Club sprinters getting it wrong earlier today. Fortunately he was able to walk away from the car....

I was planning to go sprinting at some stage, but incidents like this (plus Goodwood earlier in the season) have put me right off!

Just had to ring my mate after looking at that, he races a 7 and was at shelsley this weekend, his car is a near double of that one, fortunately not him though.

<Eeek> sorry Andy - maybe I should have mentioned that the driver in question is Richard Price.  He is a seasoned sprinter - very experienced and knowledgeable.

    Captured on video as well!

Richard dual drives with his son Tom and they usually data log and video so they can compare / contrast their runs so we may yet also see some in car footage.

So glad to see Richard walking away from this looking a bit groggy but basically ok.  He converted from FIA bar with petty strut to full cage a while back - a good move I feel!

Agree on the full cage. I owned a 7 a number of years ago which I rolled, without a doubt the full cage is why I walked away without a scratch.

I was held on the start line as next car to run (MX5  number 19), we were returned to the paddock to reform, as indicated fortunately he was able to get out with minor injuries & a very sore body,  a few other minor incidents during the day mostly as a result of slippy bits on the left hander into the esses, it was dry in the afternoon for the competitive runs & good & grippy, & the weather held except for a quick shower during the lunch break, a good days motorsport, Paul H.
