MX-5 OC Forum

We are pleased  to have been invited to take part in this year's Hendy Mazda Scatter Drive, organized again by Solent member Richard Sanders and his Dad Brian. Last year's event was a huge success and Hendy Mazda supplied some GREAT prizes. As it is a Hendy Mazda, free to enter, event it is open to MX5 Owners Club members from all areas and to non-members who have purchased MX5s from Hendy.

As Richard needs to know the number of MX5 owners who intend to take part please can you reply to this post to express your interest.

The event will take place on Sunday August 5th and the start/finish will be at Hendy Mazda, Leigh Road, Eastleigh, Hampshire, SO50 9PT.

The scatter start time is 11am, so competitors need to be at Hendy Mazda by 10:30am or earlier. Tea, coffee and snacks will be available at no charge ... as will arranging test drives of new MX5s!!

 Count me in! Last year was our first scatter drive and we had a great time!

 Ok at the risk of sounding thick, whats a scatter drive?

It is a bit like a treasure hunt in a car. You get given a set of clues and a map with lots of points marked on it. You navigate to as many points as you can and write down the answer for that point. It could be a roadsign or a feature of the road that you are looking for. You should come along, it's great fun!

I will try if I'm not working I will be there not been out in car for awhile So will try let you know at end of month

Sorry I haven't been in touch so far this year but I have been involved with other motoring events - they always seem to clash.  I would very much like to join in on the 5th August, please.  I have e-mailed Richard and have found myself a navigator!  See you on the day.

 Torn now between this and the Simply Japanese event at Beaulieu. If I come can I manage with a map as I have no sat nav.

All maps, Question sheet and Competitor Entry number will be provided for this free to enter event. All you need to bring is something to write your answers with ( pencil/pen) oh, and a navigater. Sponsored by Hendy Mazda who will provide some great prizes for you to win. There are no forms to fill in, just come along and take part but please let me know in advance so I know numbers.
