checking and refitting both front and rear anti roll bar on mk2.5

    checking and refitting both front and rear anti roll bar on mk2.5

    hi all , i would like to locate and check my anti roll bars on front and rear of my mk2.5... ( in easy to understand lingo please ) can somebody give me any tips. i have been given spare replacement parts but there is no point changing if the car does not need it. i have looked online but not much on this subject.

    Check them why? They are big bars of solid metal that go across the car and connect the left and right suspension together. The front one goes across from the front of the wishbones and through the engine bay. The rear is in a similar position...except at the back.

    thanks for the info , checking as i seem to now have a lot of roll on the car

     Check the arb's(drop links) while your in there, and that the bracing are all still in place .

    It is unlikely that the anti-roll bars themselves are at fault (they are simple solid steel torsion bars). You would have heard an almighty bang if one broke.

    When you say 'now have a lot of roll' is this a new problem? As suggested, could be a droplink snapped or come loose, or maybe duff damper(s).

     Happy daysThumbs up, they pop out of their knuckle on the Mk 2/2.5's, if it did do this and you pushed it back in ? be warned it will pop back out again, best to fit new ones on both sides.
