    Re: www.mx5motors.com

     +1 for Mx5 Motors!

Steve did a super job on my really rusty sills, plus a few other bits and got my car through it's MOT. Yes

    Definately recommended!

Re: Mazford Tec - Great Service

I have just had a 54000 mile Service on my Mk2.5 1.8 Sport, complete with cambelt/idler/tensioner and water pump change from Mazford Tec in Gosport, Hants, and would thoroughly recommend them.  The price was very reasonable (£327inc VAT) and the level of service from Andy was first class.  www.mazford.co.uk

    Re: Freelance Mazda

Yup, same here. Cambelt service, discs and pads all round. He said it'd be 5 hours but called me after 2 1/2 to tell me it was ready for collection (I sh*t myself as it was so far before he said it would be ready and thought something expensive was wrong!) and the whole package for £430! Considering Mazda wanted more than that JUST FOR THE SERVICE I was more than happy wi that!

I also got a few tips on how to look after the car better myself and he'd clearly had a good look around the car while it was on the ramps and reassured me it was all in good nick!

    I'm mega happy Big Smile

Had a service, cambelt and waterpump change done earlier this month. Steve's a top bloke. Customer service is second to none, had a minor hiccup and he couldn't have been more helpful. I'd definately recommend him.

    Hi Russ

Due to legal reasons I have had to change my business name and website/email addresses as it was previously MAZFORD.TEC and is now MAZZ-TEC.

This does not affect my business in any other way as I am a sole trader.

The mazford.com website and email addresses will no longer work.

So all contact must be through the new website/email addresses.

    Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

    Kind Regards

    Andy (MAZZ-TEC uk)

    Re: 5-Speed

    AT:

5-Speed is a new MX5 specialist based in the Midlands (Notts). Steve Morecroft is a Ferrari-trained mechanic, and long-time owner of a very powerful Mk1 MX5. So far, my experience of 5-Speed has been limited to an engine and driveline inspection check. Steve seems to be exceptionally meticulous in his work. His workshop is clean and roomyy, and well supplied with tea and biscuits. Steve can undertake all normal servicing and repair work, but also seems well equipped to embark on more ambitious tuning of MX5s, particularly Mk1s. He is also experienced in installing Mk2 and Mk2.5 engines into Mk1s.

I had a bad experience with this crowd so I couldn't personally recommend using them.

    Re: Freelance Mazda

Well, the car has had it's full service with Freelance Mazda, and runs a lot better, will get them to do the MOT, have also asked for a quote to have the sills done and a respray (separate quotes) does any one know what I should expect to pay

    Roddisons Motorsport

Although we've not had our 5 long, i just felt the handling wasn't quite right, safe and ok, but not spot on! Add to that the fact that when we bought it, it had just had 4 brand new tires & I felt a full geometry check was in order. I'd seen very good reviews of Paul Roddison's work (Shepcote Lane, Sheffield 0114  2445300) and was keen to find out more. So I booked in for a full geo check on my way to work. Paul discussed our motoring needs, yes it was a daily driver, yes we wanted good tire wear, but we also like to "get a bit of a move on" especially on the twisty stuff & we cover about 10k a year. All this enabled him to build up a picture of how the geometry could be adjusted to suit our needs.

Paul went round the vehicle and identified that the geometry was out a little at the back & front. He made the relevant adjustments, discussing the implications of the compromise he'd set up. The whole experience was very pleasurable, as I was made to feel a part of the process rather than just a spectator! It is clear from his track time that knows MX5's!

Anyway what was the outcome? Well even the usually uninspiring drive to work was a revelation! the handling was spot on, almost telepathic! The oh so slight understeer to had gone, replaced by confident and precise tracking of bends & the slight vagueness around the dead ahead had vanished too. I can't wait until i've finished my shift so that I can let SWMBO have a blast round the back roads!

Thank you Paul, i'm very impressed!

Growing old is mandatory, growing up is a choice!

    Re: "5 Speed" Garage Recommendation

    DonT:

Big SmileYesterday I had a cam belt & water pump change at 5 speed (http://www.5-speed.co.uk/) near Nottingham.

The business is owned & run by Steven Morecroft and I have to say I was very impressed by him, he did a great job.

I found him to be very enthusiastic and his rates are very reasonable.

I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone.
    Don T

I've been to them before and I wouldn't go there again.
