Just been out for a great drive on a beautiful summer evening. Took the camera and thought I would share some photos of my car in its perfect environment.

Aah looks like a perfect roadster road to me

Sunset shows up the beautiful lines of the MX-5

and hide the dirt

and this is my absolute favourite. By chance I just got the MX-5 badge in the bottom of the shot. With the sunset and the reflection of the clouds on the boot... says it all really - what open top motoring is all about.

I love summer evening driving with the roof down, but last year I got hit in the face by a bat! The mammalian kind, not a cricket bat!

 All but the last one were down a tiny lane off the Willington to Derby road. Arleston lane. The last one taken nearer where I live on outskirts of Derby.

that last one has to make the final cut for the next club calendar, lovely pics mate.

BTW how on earth do you get hit in the face by a bat. Gap between face and windsreen is small, add on the velocity vector and thats got to be a million to one chance.

He hit me from the side: swooped down and across the open side window as I trundled round a corner.

Sounds pre-meditated to me.  I bet he flew back up to his perch and had a right laugh with his mates. Bet they've got a little chart on the tree with the picture of a MX-5 on it with crosses on. There wasn't another bat nearby with a camera phone by any chance?

I am a big Pratchett fan by the way. If you're on the rooftops of Ankh Morpork  you're gonna have to rely on that 1 in a million chanceI
