    How to...Locate the parts in a MK1 engine bay/where's the VIN--NA (MK1).

    Here's the 1.6 Engine
     

    And here is the 1.8
     

    And here is an Auto, highlighted in the red square is the transmission dipstick.
     

    Oil level check for Auto
    Make sure your engines warm and you've been through all the gears.

    The engine must be running while you check the level.

    Also have a sniff, if it smells burnt or looks black get the tranny oil changed

    ENGINE NUMBER LOCATION

    On a Mk1 1.6 the engine number is here, the top picture is just to show the general area

    On a Mk1 1.8 the engine number is in a similar position on the exhaust side
