Cotswolds Lunch Run - 12^th May – Sunday

A lunch run in and around the Cotswolds finishing up at a pub between Stow on the Wold and Chipping Norton for a two course lunch at £15.95 per head at 1.30pm. We will meet at the Market Square, Stony Stratford, MK11 1BE at 10.15am for an off at 10.30am.

All welcome, but can you please contact Brian & Sally on bhwinter@btinternet.com if you wish to do this Sunday Lunch Run, as we have to give the pub our menu choices a week prior to arrival. A menu and further details of the run will be announced at the next Milton Keynes & Chilterns area meeting on the 1^st May and e-mailed to everyone that has registered.

If you fancy a social night with a difference then why not sign up by paying £10 per person at the next club night meeting so that an evening can be booked, the £10 includes a full round of 18 holes and a drink at the end, with viewing over the course form the balcony for those that do not want to play.

Those that pay to play on the Club night can agree a date to play, the suggestion would be for late June or early July.

20/25 Celebration Tour MX-5s go to Monte Carlo 21^st June 2014

Ted and Lucie McKay, in conjunction with European Driving Tours are organising a 9 day drive to Monte Carlo as a way of celebrating the 20 years of the MX5 Owners Club and 25 years of the MX-5 car.

MX5OC National Spring Rally at Pitlochry in Scotland. Ted and Lucie will be taking a week’s driving holiday in the area (including the famous Applecross Route) following the Rally and will welcome fellow travellers.

I have been told that the Saturday night dinner is all booked up already and the hotels in this area are booking up fast so if you were planning to go to the Spring Rally I suggest that you hurry up and book your hotels, B&B etc.

Sunday run to Eddlesborough and Ashridge, organised by Charlene Cornwell.

Meeting at the old Little Chef at the bottom of the A5 post code: MK17 9DN at 10.00 am to drive to Eddlesborough through Leighton Buzzard. We can find a mutual place to pick up more members that live near that way. Arriving at Eddlesborough for approximately 10.45am where we will have some fun with bow and arrows!!! post code for Archery centre is LU6 2ES The archery is a taster for £12.50 per person for approximately 45 minutes. Once we have finished the archery we will take a drive to Ashridge for approximately 12.30 for a picnic and a walk around the park.

We will drive over to meet up with Northamptonshire Area club members at their monthly club meet at:

You can make your own way there or if needed I would be happy to lead a drive out to Overstone Manor. I'd suggest that we meet up in the Caldecotte Arms car park and then set off from there at around 6.30 pm.

A Weekend of Motorsport, organised by MX5OC. Based at the popular Blyton Park race track in Lincolnshire.

Camping weekend – Fir Tree Farm, Warmington, Banbury, OX17 1JL

The Camping weekend is being arranged as a relaxing ‘do-what-you-want’ weekend. We will arrange a few activities which will be completely optional. The camp site is a small picturesque lake side location, quiet and very secluded and with good road access and exceptional views over open countryside. The site has a shower and toilet block with a washing up-area. There are two well stocked fishing lakes on the site, and a Falconry centre with clubhouse and snack bar. Pet are allowed on site and there is a large dog-walking area next to the site. There are two pubs within walking distance.

Arrive in Suffolk on Friday 25^th October 2013.

There are a number of hotels in the area. We will be staying in the Ipswich North Premier Inn for two nights. It is possible to book rooms at the moment for just £35 per room per night.

On Saturday 26^th October, Gather at Ipswich North Carp Park at 10am for a drive to Sutton Hoo, Visit the site and the museum. Then on to Woodbridge for lunch and a visit tot he tide mill.

Return to Premier Inn.

On Sunday 27^th a drive to Lavenham and have a lunch there and return home mid-afternoon.

12^th May – We have an invite from Northants MX5OC club and Ken Stanbury to join them for the Ludlow Spring Festival. Paul Clifton – Northants club member has kindly volunteered to organise the annual visist to the Ludlow Spring Festival and we are invited to join the Northans club either at Sixfields or at Ludlow. Ludlow Brewery has offered us parking facilities in their main car park in front of their premises (accessed via Station Drive) at a modest fee of £2 per car, which Paul will collect on the day. Asd in previous years, the Northants group will be leaving from Sixfields cinema car park at 8 am and calling in at Hopwood Park Service Area on J2 of the M42 at 9.15 am for a comfort break and to pick up fellow travellers.

The Milton Keynes Area was formed in July 2000, in response to the growing Numbers of MX-5 Owners within the MK Postcode As of July 2009 there are 90 members joining in our activities, coming, not only from Milton Keynes itself, but surrounding areas of Buckingham, Bedford, Luton, Dunstable and numerous villages.

Milton Keynes MX-5 Owners Club meets at The Caldecotte Arms, Bletcham Way, Milton Keynes MK7 8HP on the first Wednesday of each month from 7.00 for a chat and a meal first and the meeting starts at 8 pm. There is plenty of parking.

Each month there is an update of events taking place locally and nationally, general planning and discussion of activities and an opportunity for everyone to express their opinions, and offer suggestions. We also have fun whenever possible! So far during 2012 we have had Weekends in Cornwall, The New Forest and several evening and weekend drives to country pubs. Members take turns in arranging these activities with everyone prepared to have a go at something.

We're not a techie bunch, spending time with our heads under bonnets, tweaking engines - though there are some tyre-kicking activities for the keen! Our annual Best Kept Car competition is always fiercely contested! We're mainly a social club who prefer to enjoy driving our cars to interesting places and making friends and always welcome new members.

Programme:-

11.30am meet at the Super Sausage on the A5 North of Potterspury NN12 7OD for brunch.

12.45pm leave Super Sausage for Towcester race course, first race starts at 1.15pm.

I'v just relocated to Kempston, Bedford. Firstly.. Hello to everyone.. hope to meet some local mx owners sometime soon! Can anyone recommend garages around this area? I will soon be needing work done on the mk1.. mainly an MOT in January. Hate the idea of leaving my car with a local garage..

Also If anyone is local and willing to help me do some work on the mx at the house that would be very handy.. im not the best with a spanner. There could be a few things I need to sort on the car before its mot.

We spend a couple of saturday mornings a month polishing, and enjoying our MX5's. Then off out for a hoon around the Cardington Hangers area. It would be really great to meet up with other MX5's for a cuppa, fiddle with cars, and/or a drive out on a Saturday. We see a lot of other MX5's around Kempston & Bedford, we've a nice secure car park for a few other MX5'ds and a pot of coffeee/tea on the go. If anyone else fancies an informal saturday meet up then drop us a line.

Firework Championship Stanford Hall 4 th Ausust

Now in its 9th year at Stanford Hall - 4 great firework displays! 3 of the UK's best firework companies compete against each other with a 10 minute firework display choreographed to music followed by a finale display from organisers MLE Pyrotechnics. The types of fireworks being used by the companies are quite different to the material available to the general public, each company can use category 4 fireworks - those that are for professional use only.

Adults £15, Children £6

We will meet up at The Little Chef Stony Stratford at 16.45 leaving at 17.00hrs , we will then meet up with our friends from Northampton , to convoy to Stanford Hall together, and have time to eat our picnics before dusk sets and the amazing firework displays commence. If you haven't been before the displays are simply stunning, and it really is a great evening.

You will need to bring yor own picnic + Chairs + Light

We Normal have our own sitting area, where we can put up the club gazebo.

I think that the evening ends at about 10.30 .
