There will be one convoy leaving the Longford Island at Cannock 6.00pm (from the retail park next to McDonalds) and maybe others if anyone interested.

Run To Trentham September 5th

Hi Everyone, here are the details for next Sundays outing to Trentham -

Meeting at the usual place at 10.30 for a 10.45 departure (Mc Donalds, A5 Cannock) then taking the following route -

A5 to just after Weston under Lizard, turn right onto A41, third island (Newport) turn right onto A519 - stay on 519 all the way through to Beech (past Eccleshall), turn right at the island onto A51, then turn left at the next island (Darlaston Inn) and onto A34, taking us up to Trentham.

its a lovely road, lots of twisty bits and lovely scenery, takes about 1hr 10mins from Longford island.. (including a brief pit stop) theres a garden centre on the A41 called Mere Park, where we will be meeting any one from Shropshire who wants to join the convoy, we should be here at approx 11.10

If anyone from the North would like to email me with suggested meeting point so that we can all arrive together, it would be very much appreciated!!

Hopefully we should arrive at Trentham at about 12.00.

NWM & CNW mini convoy to Rockingham Monday 30th

A few members from North West Midlands and Cheshire & North Wales attending Rockingham Raceway tomorrow morning.

A short convoy will be going down M6 Toll 07.00 Hrs. A14, 08.00 Hrs A43, 08.30 Hrs A6003 08.45 Hrs

Anybody else going and doing similar route and times let us know and we can convoy together.

Social Evening NWM 9th September Shropshire

Hi everyone,

Next month's social get together will be at Prees, North Shropshire on Thursday 9th September from 6.00pm onwards.

Joint Co-Ordinators Mark & Dave would like all new and existing members to come and have a social get together at other locations in our area and the very first to be away from Stafford is at my home in Prees.

A BBQ will be available if you bring your own bits n bobs and a chair or blanket.

Look forward to seeing you all and hopefully some more new faces, with it being in Shropshire on a Thursday.

Official Monthly Meeting - Wednesday 25th August

Hi Everyone,

Just a reminder that this month's meeting at The Barley Mow, Milford Common, Stafford is this coming Wednesday. As usual an area is booked in the pub from 7.00pm onwards for those wishing to eat, but if you just wish to turn up for a drink and a chat, you're more than welcome. Meeting commences as soon as possible after 8.00pm. when we discuss ideas and plan future events. Please confirm attendance as numbers are increasing by the month and the pub have agreed to accommodate us in a larger area.Any members who are unable to attend, please forward any suggestions or comments for consideration at the meeting.

Looking forward to another record turnout and meeting more new members.

MazFest August 28th - To set Guiness World Record

Barley Mow

A great turnout of 22 – not bad considering it was a wet and miserable evening and many people on holiday. Once again it was great to be able to welcome some new faces. It was the first meeting in the larger Adults area in the pub and it worked out really well.

Guiness World Record Attempt

A few of are attending this event on Saturday at Blyton Park Lincs DN21 3PF. Full details are already on the Forum, but this will be updated with meeting points for those wishing to travel with us..

5^th September - Monthly Run – Teri’s Birthday Run to Trentham Gardens

Teri couldn’t make the meeting, but has done a recce of a route starting at Longford Island with a pleasant drive taking just over an hour. Details of times and meeting points for those coming from the North of the area will be posted on the forum and updated to those on the contact list by email.

9^th September - Social Evening – North Shropshire

At the last meeting it was agreed that we would move to the social evening to various venues around the area to give more members an opportunity to join in. As already posted on the forum, for the first one Ian has very kindly offered to host a BBQ at his home in Prees. There will be one meeting point at Longford Island for those wishing to travel in convoy and we will sort out another if anyone is attending from the Stoke direction. Please let Ian know as possible if you can attend.

National Rally – Chatsworth – 18^th – 19^th September

We had been advised by the Peaks and Pennines that if we wish to park together at Chatsworth on the Sunday we will need to arrive together. Some members will be travelling up for the day and others will be arriving from hotels in the area. It was therefore suggested that we meet at Baslow, near Chatsworth at 9.30am. We will find a pub car park to meet on and confirm the name and postcode on the forum and by email. We will also sort out a meeting point for anyone wishing to travel up together on the Saturday.

3rd October – Monthly Run – Llandudno

Dave agreed to arrange this one, so we can have a last visit to the seaside before winter arrives. Full details to follow.

14^th October – Social Evening – North Staffs

Jacqui and Glyn were dropped in at the deep end on their first visit and kindly offered to arrange an evening in their part of the area. The Talbot at Bidulph is the suggested venue and Jacqui will be contacting them to arrange a booking.

Curborough 17th September

I have posted this on as many of your area forums that I know, but if I have not found your forum, could you please let your members know about this

The Annual Owners Club Curborough Club Day will take place on 17th September which is the Friday before the National Rally at Chatsworth House.

This is a tremendously fun event, being relaxed and informal with heaps of encouragement and help for novices and experienced drivers alike. The short sprint track is both challenging and yet benign enough for the inexperienced.

This is very much a social day as much as driving and has become somewhat of a regular event. Spectators are more than welcome, in fact encouraged to come and watch.

This year sees a bit of a departure from the past in that due to the National Rally, Curborough is being held on the Friday rather than Saturday and the day will also be broken into two halves.

The afternoon “sprint” (there will be no official timing) will follow the traditional format of one car on track at once and operating a queuing system and will run till 5pm.

However as we have the track all day, in the morning we will provide “Welcome to Track” sessions via Mazda on Track, where novice drivers can come and drive a track prepared MX-5 and receive tuition on track driving. It’s an excellent introduction to motorsport and the 2008 Ladies HSA champion and club member Barbra Fogden started just there, with a session at Curborough.

The afternoon sessions will be £35

Welcome to Track sessions will be £60 and will include both theory and driving.

This event will be run independently by Mazda on Track,

Curborough Sprint Track http://www.curborough.co.uk is just off the A38, close to Lichfield, and is easily accessible from the M6 or M1,

Chatsworth, and the Friday night accommodation is approx 50 miles to the north, a 1 1/4 hour drive

Hi Everybody,

Jill here from Peaks and Pennines, just a reminder to you all about car parking at the National Rally Chatsworth.

Due to the shape of the car park area, and for maximum effect both visually and for photo shots etc, we aim to have everybody park in long lines across the field facing towards the river.

So to achieve this, it will be arrive and park straight away one after the other, also as Chatsworth don't want us holding up the public from accessing the house.

So if you intend to park as a club, ie all together from your area, I suggest you all meet up somewhere and arrive together. As already mentioned we would prefer not to leave holes in the line up waiting for someone who may or may not turn up.

There will be a picnic area, somewhere to erect your gazebos or just chill out, to the right of the field after you have come through the gate, amongst the trees and bordering the river bank.

So if you could pass this on to your members it would save a lot of heartache and delay on the day, many thanks for your time.
