Then it just started again, further web searches and it looks like TomTom have had a number of issues with their servers. Thinking I may be better of not spending money on updates at all and just replacingbthenhead unit with something decent.

Final note , back to previous posts and the Bluetooth adaptor didn't work, however it did work with my civic so it's now in that.

Re: Sanyo Mazda NVA-SD8110 EU LIVE Mk3/3.5 Sat Nav - anyone got one?

Is anyone else using the Live services on this unit?

I bought a subscription which wouldnt work, a call to TomTom and they claimed it wasnt the right one (it was for speed cams which I didnt want) but based on a photo of the packaging which had very unclear guidance as to what it was and they activated it for traffic. However it is now intermittently failing to get a connection to download this data.

The car isnt a year old yet and this is my second head unit, the first one never got traffic data, the second one has lasted for about 9 months.....both had the same issue a failure in the communications to the TomTom servers.

Anyone else suffering similar issues?

Mazda are not good at diagnosing issues, I also have very poor call quality on the bluetooth unit, I think it needs a new microphone but they wont change it without spending a day diagnosing and each time they test it they report No Fault Found - try talking whilst driving is my response .....

tcs17_tim:

I plugged my SD card into the pc before the 3 months trial was up to see whether I was due any updates but it didnt say so. I have now plugged it in again and surprise surprise there have been 8 map updates......but guess what its going to cost......not full price of £75 but only £52.46. Scam eh, less than a year old and I am 8 maps out of date.....

I had to speak with TomTom to resolve this as well, TomTom Home sneakily puts the map guarantee option in the menus at the top of the window so if you are in your 3 month trial, make sure you go to the toolbar at the top of the window, click tools, use latest map guarantee. I didnt and so didnt get the map update until I complained about it.

Yes its the same as I was looking at the 2013 model the other day

SHould also have said that for any ipod or iphone to work that you cannot just use the normal sync and charge cable, you need the apple ( or equivalent) cable that has the follwing

Ipod connector

USB connectore

Audi ( left and right phono type)

and in my case

Video ( Composite phono)

This is the same as mine, not vouching for the supplier it was just what came up in google first.

http://www.evertop.co.uk/p/1177528/Original-Apple-Audio-Video-Cable-with-USB-TV-Cable-For-Apple-iPhone-GS-G-G-iPad-iPod-Touch-iPod-Nano-iPod-Classic---Original-AV-Cable.html?gclid=CPixk5maw7YCFXHLtAodiUIATA

I know some people have used ebay variations, I have always used an original apple version just because i already had one.

USB send commands back and forth and the phono connectors send the analogue music and video signals

REally annoingly you can't conenct any other video or audi device in to the phono type connectors as only apple products work

I'm going to try the bluetooth adaptor on the end of the cable, see what happens !

Will let you know

Effectively, this means that you will not be able to use any Lightning connector equipped Apple devices with the Sanyo unit in the Venture even if you use the Apple Lightning to 30 pin adapter. (I am assuming that the 2013 Venture uses the same unit as the one in my 2012 Venture - if not, sorry!).

Agreed - not good and this is another "missing" feature alongside the unit's inablility to automatically adjust for BST/GMT changes.

Hello, sorry if this has already been covered...I have just purchased an 2013 MX-5 Venture. Whilst Im VERY happy with the car, the audio seems outdated...i have tried to connect an iphone 5 and an ipod nano (7th gen) to the AV cable provided (with an Apple AV cable and an Apple 30-pin to lightning bolt connector)...but with no success at all. No audio and 'accessory unsupported' sign.

...Has anyone else had this issue? would this be a firmware upgrade requirement or should I just accept that I have to by outdated products to serve my new car!!?

Cheers.
