    To shiny chrome or not to shiny chrome...

     that is the question ...

    Brilliant black car, black leather seats etc Inside there is shiny chrome round the dials, and the door handles are shiny chrome.The gear knob is satin as is the handbrake. There's satin round the gear knob too - it's nice and says MX5 on it.

    I quite fancy putting chrome around the 4 round vents and hazard switch - but what kind ? shiny or satin ?

    I want to put a bit of bling in the car - as it's black I think it can stand it but I don't want to overdo it.

    What else could I add but still keep it tasteful?

     RX8 gear knob.....adds some bling & being heavier makes gearchanging much easier - believe it or not.

    Vent rings....This set has the hazard switch ring too which are hard to find.

    Chrome heater knobs.....At £5 it would be rude not to!

    That`s a start. If you want satin finish happy hunting.

     They're the vent rings I've been looking at this morning {#emotions_dlg.thumb}

    Not sure about the heater knobs though, they look at bit plasticky in the photo.

    There`s a picture of them fitted to mine in my "Rides" thread. For that price you can put the old ones back on when you fancy a change.

    Definately polished rather than satin in my opinion.

    Black cars can take a 'decent' amount of 'bling' before looking over the top.
    I think it's kind of an ongoing process until you feel you've done enough.

    I've got a fair amount on mine, but I could go a LOT further. I feel i've got to the point where it looks cool without looking tacky.
    Good place to look is at your local meet or one of the rallies. You can see cars with varying amounts of bling in the flesh then and see what suits your taste.

     Send me a PM with your e-mail and i'll send them straight to you,i have the haeter knobs that dave is talking about fitted on both,there all right,the only thing i have got that i would say no to is the mx5parts (IL)chrome needle cover caps,they do not last,they bubble up and the chrome lifts.but i'll send some pic's anyway and if there is anything you are after ,i'll tell you where to get it all from, cheap.{#emotions_dlg.wink}

    We have them on both cars now. Easy to fit, need a warmish day, dry fit first making sure the centre peice is dead centre. On the MKII the windscreen rubber was different and had to pull it almost right out, but a little persuasion with a rubber mallett got it back in OK.

    The look is brilliant.

    Treat yourself to some shiny bits, but do it properly with some thought and not over-the-top

    Re: To shiny chrome or not to shiny chrome...

     Thank you all very much for

    a) taking the time to reply

    b) taking the time and trouble to post photos for me

    I'm completely convinced about the chrome vent things - they look really good.

    I like the chrome round the windscreen but hubbie not convinced.

    I've got a chrome filler cap. What else looks nice ???
