Meet at Longford Island Retail Park (next to McDonalds) at 8.30am prompt (by request a little earlier than originally planned)

We will take the A5 towards Telford. Anyone from that area may meet us in the layby before the Thomas Telford roundabout at 9am prompt.( where we've met before)

We will continue along the A5 to the M54 which we'll only be on for about 4 miles before following the A5 to Nesscliffe.

We will take the B4396 through Knockin.

Pick up the B4391 to Llangynog. There are good public toilets here with plenty of parking so we'll have a short stop here. Bring refreshments if required as the shop was closed the last time we went through.

Continue along B4391 for about 12.5 miles to Bala (Lookout for the sheer drop on the passenger side - we don't want to lose anyone!!!!).

Pick up the A4212 for about 17 miles, right onto A470 for 3 miles and bear left onto A487 for approx 9 miles and this takes us into Portmadoc. Approximate arrival time 12.30.

We intend to head straight to the beach. There is a pub/restaurant within walking distance of the beach serving food and drinks until 2pm. There are bar snacks and restaurant food available. Although some of you may choose to bring a pinic or have a drive into town. For anyone intending to stay late the pub reopens and serves food again at 6.30pm til 9pm.

Let's pray for sunshine! But we'll have a laugh whatever! Don't forget suncream, umbrellas bikinis, waterproofs, kites, buckets and spades,etc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Going back to the subject of Portmadoc. Ian has put forward an idea about taking two way radios. He recently went on a run with another region and they handed out two way radios to all the cars, so that they could keep in touch with each other. I'm not suggesting that we all go and buy some, but if anyone has any they could bring along (fully charged), we could also try this idea out. At least with radios, we can all communicate together at the same time, as compared with mobile phones. Could anyone planning on attending the trip to Portmadoc please let me know, as well as anyone with any two way radios willing to bring them.
