 Every month on the 1st Friday of the month from 8 pm onwards Get together for Nosh and Natter -  Can you let me know, by email, forum or text  please, if you are coming this month. I have to reserve a table for eating, and need to know numbers by the Wednesday before the meet,  at the latest to let them know exact numbers, we are limited to the amount that confirm they are coming along in advance.

The first evening pub meet went really well. Nice to see so many South East members and also meeting a new face, Dave (forgive me if I have your name wrong, possibly age related) The pub quiz was fun. We came second (second to last that is)

Thanks for coming along and supporting this new pub meet and to all the other locals that came along, I know the price of the meals was a little high so if you have your meal before you come or just have a portion of chips then not so bad, however the food does taste good so you have a choice.

We will try this venue for the 3 months  as advised dates then perhaps try Plucks Gutter, or The Plough or the other one in Barham some of the suggestions from last night so at some point so we have a few choices, We will vary the location to keep all happy in the Kent area. Keep coming with the ideas and if you have a venue you think would be good let me know.

Regarding the pub quiz run by the pub, we all enjoyed a laugh but we can always just have a natter and we don't have to join in unless you feel like it. We have a challenge to come higher than second to last next month if you wish.

Thanks for a good enjoyable, relaxing evening (even for me) I think we had around 14 members come along and nice to see some new members and faces. (Hope Dave you get that car on the road nice to meet you)

 Hi Everyone

Well what an excellent evening, thanks to the 21 members that came along, it was a laugh re arranging the furniture in the pub for us all to have our own area, well team MX-5 Convertables well done on coming first in the pub quiz especially as the pub was so busy with stiff competition. Thanks to Sue our super star who got the deciding tie break question correct. Hope you enjoy the bottle of wine and thanks for your fantastic brain. It's nice to find a pub that offers free nibbles and sweets to everyone and is happy to accomodate us. I know the food prices are a little on the expensive but you are near to Canterbury and City prices are the norm I am afraid.

Welcome to newbies Guy and Katie, Elaine and Jay and Sheila who came along to the meet, hope you enjoyed yourselves and look forward to meeting you all again.

We have been talking re the winter months boo hoo..... Well we have all agreed that the Chapter Arms is lovely in the summer months and they have said they will lay on a BBQ for us in the Summer, but for the Winter we need somewhere that is close to a motorway, and although the Dog and Duck has been mentioned at Plucks Gutter we feel this maybe another option for the summer months as this can be tricky getting to in the ice and snow,  so we think that the White Lion pub at Boughton maybe a good venue for the winter, it means that people from Thanet can come along the Thanet Way and come off at Brenley Corner likewise people can come down the A2 and M2 and come off at Brenley Corner.

We will be back at the Chapter Arms next month 7th October for more fun, let us know what you think, we are open to suggestions we want to find 3 good Pubs that we can rotate so

1) The Chapter Arms - Chartham Hatch (Summer and Autumn)(May,June,July,Aug,Sept,Oct,Nov)

2) Dog and Duck - Plucks Gutter (Spring)(Mar,Apr)

3) White Lion - Boughton (Winter) (Dec,Jan,Feb)

 Thanks to all those that came along last night we were not so rosy on the quiz this month but Sue's team came third so well done to all of you

Well we will be having our last meet at the Chapter Arms next month 4th November before we have a break in December, I will then be organising alternative months with The Dog and Duck (Plucks Gutter), The Wagon and Horse (Faversham Road, Charing)   and The Chapter Arms (Chartham Hatch) so this will give all a chance to come and enjoy as they are in various locations in Kent starting from January 2011.
