Re: Special Edition Register - California & Merlot
Nemesis:
On the subject of VIN numbers did you know that if you run the VIN number of a Merlot through DVLA it comes back as a Gleneagles. Apparently this is true for all Merlots. I know mine is on the log book as a Gleneagles. Is this true for anyone else. I contacted DVLA a while back and they said they would change it only if Mazda themselves agreed to changing the description of the car. I never did get round to contacting Mazda UK. Now I have been reminded of it I may well do so soon. I also get the same problem when trying to insure and get parts from a Mazda dealer.
Sounds to me as though you have a Gleneagles, surely Mazda would have got it right on their database?
Robbie any comment on this?
If it's broken, repair and improve it. If it's not broken, just improve it. Mk2.5 1.8 2004 Strato Blue. Re: Special Edition Register - California & Merlot
Happens a lot when you register them for MOT test on the computer as well. I don't think it's Mazda who have it wrong, it's the DVLA.

Re: Special Edition Register - California & Merlot
All MK1 Specials, UK only for now please. Nothing wrong with import drivers (I'm one myself), just trying to keep the size of the task managable for now.

I'll be bringing home a 1991 limited edition this evening, I think it's number 25 of 250 but I'll have the correct details plus reg by tonight!

When did they stop? Mine was registered on 19/2/98, didn't realise it was a "late" one as such.

Re: Special Edition Register - Mk1
webby,
Assuming your car is the one with the last 3 digits of the VIN being 370 (only one I have that was registered on 19-2-98), your's was built on 03-10-97 and is the newest build Classic I have on the register so far.
