I guess I would try clear silicone, but I've never done it and am only suggesting. Hopefully someone that has done it will come along.

Re: What have you done to your MX5 today ?????????????
Colin S:
Now have a new cam belt, water pump, belts, plugs leads etc fitted.
Air cleaner was apparently well choked and Oil was also black -so much for being regularly serviced
I chickened out and got little brother to do it for me as he has a nice warm and dry workshop, and from the the amount of names he was calling it, I gather it wasn't
the easiest of jobs Perhaps it's just as well I got him to do it
Still
needs transmission oils changing and new SS rear box putting on, but
it's getting there. Mind you once those are done I still have to find
somewhere to fit the CD autochanger and sort out some proper gauges, and
see if I can find a couple of spare 15" rims, and..........
Picking
up new OEM battery tomorrow and then off to Brands Hatch in the evening to
tear around a field like a hooligan. Sorry did I say that out loud, I
meant compete in a Grass Autotest
Can i borrow your little brother????????

I have now done the 14 Degrees Mod which has made the acceleration much smoother in the power band well worth a simple and cost free job :)

Is the CAS O-ring fresh? If not, it may start leaking now it's been disturbed - run your finger under it weekly and check for oil, if you're not going to fit a new one now.

Re: What have you done to your MX5 today ?????????????
Mk1 1.8 (the newest good 1.6 is 18 years old now), no rust, good paint, no modifications to scare the insurers. Definitely not a Berkeley or anything yellow, white or light blue. Not ruling out Eunos Roadsters; I'm old enough that I can insure most things at reasonable cost.
I'm looking at a car tomorrow (I've rejected two already because of emergent sill rust) and if that isn't good enough there's an R-Ltd that I'd like to see.
I've had one of these cars for 7 years and crawled all under and over it, so I can spot a duffer pretty quickly.
