I have had mention of an MX run in the tyne tees area this sunday but cannot find any details.
Am i dreaming or is it the case, having not made it to any yet with work and other life challenges i may be up for it.
Can anybody advise? Date, time, start point and expected suration/mileage?

Re: a run on the 17th April?
Now know it starts from the snowy owl, Blagdon/Cramlington 10.30am get together for an 11am set off.
If work doesn't get in the way i am meeting up with STIG at 10.15am at the Victory Pub in South Gosforth for a run to the snowy owl, if anybody wants to swell the numbers?
Any more info is very vague so full tank of fuel for the magical mystery tour!

Re: a run on the 17th April?
Sorry Max,
Would love to pop up but we're off to visit family back in Wales...
Just out of interest, will you be at Croft on the 30th? Either in official capacity or for a spin?

Re: a run on the 17th April?
Jon,
I have taken the time off between the bank holidays for a few jobs round the house to do, if i have finished fitting the new kitchen, decorations, floor tiles, gas and electical alterations then yes i'll be there but just as a spectator, possibly helping on the official side as i know croft and the organisers quite well.
Still planning to be at Newby, just forecasting current works before committing.

Arrive 10:30 for an 11:00 start. Please

have a bite of a sandwich while we're waiting. Also, please note that your car WILL get dirty on this run. |
There ya go Max, you now know as much as me.....maybe the rest is a secret

It has always been the same with the Tyne Tees runs, I never seemed to get the full story of a run - as if it was a secret.
I had to ask in the end as I used to take my son who has autism and he had to know exactly where we were going and had to see the route on a map before going.

Re: a run on the 17th April?
-halli- I`m happy to go with the flow and see how the days goes. I agree, it`s usually others who need to know more detail.
My wife asked me where I was going and when I would be be back. I couldn`t tell her!
I just hope the weather is good for a roof down day and I get to meet more owners and their cars.
I should be collecting my car on Saturday, it`s been in to get the cills sorted.
Look forward to seeing you on the day.

I meant I had to ask in the past, not for this one. Sorry for the confusion.
I'm not a member anymore so not welcome to OC jaunts.

Re: a run on the 17th April?
I seem to have hit a bit of a sore point, not intended.
I am happy with the magical mystery tours, being given the no food and back by 3pm helps no end, allows me to fit in a round of golf after aswell,
perfect!
Having arranged runs in the past for other motoring groups i know how complicated it is to provide enough info to satisfy all.
If you know the area well you could almost work the route out on a map, we have two choices 5 ford dealerships or 5 fords over rivers, the later more likely and we don't have that many ford crossings in this area.
Hope to see all on sunday,
Max.

Halli,
Please, if there is something under the surface that we as a wider audience are not privy to, then I understand but what makes you think you are not welcome?
I for one have gained great insight from some of your previous posts and value you as a contributor to the forum generally but surely inclusion is a major part of any club? I cannot believe for a minute you're not welcome on a run, otherwise how else would we get new blood in?
What are you doing on the 22nd May mate? Cars in the Park, Newby Hall nr Ripon; pop some petrol in your car and make a day of it with your son, I'll sort you a ticket. I can't promise the weather but I can promise you'll be as welcome as everyone else
Hope to see you there...

Re: a run on the 17th April?
peleton72:what makes you think you are not welcome?
being told that only members are allowed on runs and at local events such as Tech days. (and rightly so I suppose, as they are members benefits)
I decided to not renew my membership because of a number of reasons, but not because of bad feelings. Plus MX5nutz can fulfil all of my needs regarding runs (which you don't have to pay the co-ordinator for the privilege - one of the reasons!)
I was upset when told to "Keep my nose out of other people's business" when I tried to help a friend to organise and advertise a tech day (even though I had organised many, very successful tech days for the region) but that's not a main reason.
Thank you for your offer, I'll consult the diary and SWMBO.

I organized a couple or three runs in North Yorkshire for the TT group which were quite successful, but that was when petrol wasn't as expensive as it is now. To make sure everything went OK and then write the route up, so it was easy and pleasant to read and understand, does take quite some time and money. The cash you received for organizing the run didn't come any where near to covering the costs which is why I haven't done any more. Halli like me is on the edge of an MX-5 area so it costs a lot more in time and money getting to the start of most of the weekend rides before we ever start on the days run. I know this isn't a problem for a lot of members but when you are on fixed incomes or have a family and everything is going up in price it can be quite difficult.
