    PGD's 1990 1.8 Turbo

     Hi everyone

Having seen a number of you at Roddisons Tek day at the weekend I thought I'd put a post up on here.. roddison tek day thread

This is my second '5 now, and its a bit of an animal! It was built by Paul 'rodders' and equipped for some serious track action. Quick specs are FM turbo, Link ECU, Wilwood brakes and a built engine inside... but that's just the start of what has been done! All that equates to a rather challenging 280bhp and 260ft torque, which means it goes well ;)

    A few photos:

Since owning the car I've worked on a number of cosmetic mod’s such as a full wet sand and machine polish of the paintwork. Painted the A pillar and mirrors black to tie in with the hardtop I added. Cleaned up the engine bay with tucked wiring looms, powder coated Cam cover and a home made turbo heat shield.

I'm also interested in photography, so the car gets used as a subject quite often as you can see Big Smile

    Regards
    Phil

Cheers Sucram, it certainly is entertaining to drive, especially on track where the most can be made from the bhp :)

mmmm lovely! Gotta love the white ones. I really like the black window frame, I think I might have to add that to my "to do" list!

The absolute nuts!  I own a 1994 Mk1 in White and have been toying with a full respray, going to get this booked now.  If you don't mind i would like to copy your look (but not your power!). Can i pick your brains on a couple of things, my one is chaste white, is your Artic white? And also where do you get the small front number plate?

One more time, the absolute nuts!

    Thankyou :)

I dont think the colour has any other name other than, 'white' Its a pure white I believe, nothing else added.. I would imagine many sticker shops or lettering companies could make a plate to suit your measurements too

That is one of the best looking 5's I've seen. A work of art, and a quick one too I would imagine!

The wheels are 'Kosei K1 TS', which are nice and light weight :)

Thanks for the compliments all, always good to hear :)

    Re: PGD's 1990 1.8 Turbo

Another picture to illustrate the rear bumper cut..

    bumper cut

The main reason for doing this was again to tidy up tbh. A twin exit exhaust was installed when I bought the car, which was too noisy for my taste, so changing back to a single exit left the lower bumper section with an empty hole. A fog light was cut into the same section, so it was all cut off higher up (very) slowly with an angle grinder. Many in the states believe this mod helps with air flow under the car too..

Very nice 5 you have... i love the color and the contrast you do with the black HT...the wheels are the enkei?... get rid off the rear lights and go back to OEM... i think they are much prettier.. my opinion ofcourse...
