    Daves Latest Roadster

Been after a MK1 weekend toy for a few months now since selling the Sport & although a few colours tempted me i secretly hankered after a rust free white one & spotted this beauty on Ebay a week ago.

After many questions & picture requests we agreed a price including a fresh MOT & i picked it up this morning from sunny Norfolk.

Ran like a dream on the journey home & what a great day weather wise for a 100 mile hoon  Big Smile

Imported in 2004 & never seen the rain let alone salted roads!

1992 with 62000 miles on the clock & had a full cambelt service at 58K. Came with all the old MOTs & shed loads of paperwork & Jap stickers & of course the original flare. (do people leave them in the car BTW or chuck them?)

Few nice upgrades including Tanabe Sustec suspension, nice sounding exhaust, Nice strut brace with brake master cylinder brace & a couple of nice blue underbody braces. All Cusco i assume?

15 inch Enzo wheels fitted & the original daises came with it too.

Momo Prototipo steering wheel, original Roadster floor mats & a decent JVC stereo with upgraded speakers all round. Sunglasses holder in place of the ashtray which is a nice bonus.

I`d describe it as near mint apart from one dent behind the passenger door but the paint hasn`t cracked so it can stay like that untill Painter Dave on Nutz opens a southern branch Wink

Suffice to say i`m chuffed to bits with it & it makes a nice change to turn up & find one exactly as described  Thumbs up

    Here`s a few pics

Need to buy a grill sometime soon to protect the radiator & it could do with the "flash to pass" & "lights on buzzer" mods doing but so far that`s all i`ve noticed.

Front brake pads are low but a new set of EBC pads came with the car as well as a new pair of discs but at first glance the ones on there look fine & are drilled / grooved ones! New discs & pads already fitted on the rear.

As for the roll bar no doubt MRS BRG will want a windblocker so if anyone fancies a swap for the Mike Satur bars or the genuine Mazda TT bars / windbreak (see below pics) give me a shout! In the short term i`ll look out for one of those vinyl thingys that straps to the headrests.

And no! I`m still not changing my user name  Big Smile

    Re: Daves Latest Roadster

     Cheers guys!

I`ve got a few days off to check it over & drive it some more but first impressions are all good Thumbs up

Incidently is there a section on here for white 5s to sign up to like i did with my blue one? Had a look but couldn`t find it. If not i`ll start a thread!

If a MOD reads this maybe all those colour sections for people to sign up to (black brigade etc) could be pinned at the top of the rides section so they are easily found? Just a thought.

Anyway....Happy Easter one & all Smile

Sounds like a plan, I wonder which one will be first?

I quite like both of those types of bars if you mean to be getting rid of them as an 'either' option, I have one of those deflector style windbreaks currently not fitted in mine while it wintered with  a hardtop. were you interested in that kind of thing?

Welcome back to the fold mate, been far too long! You're not to far from Donnington if you fancy a lunchtime spin around the circuit on the 8th May?

And so the modding begins... Wink

    Re: Daves Latest Roadster

No luck finding a set of Mike Satur style bars yet so snapped up this set of IL Motorsports TT hoops & windblocker from Rich_C on Nutz.

Nice rigid piece of kit & simple enough to fit so will do the job of keeping Mrs BRGs hair tidy nicely for now!

    So from this

To this in about 30 minutes!
