    zpat:

Where is the car terminal - Ashford or Folkstone (if both then which one does the time apply to)?

There is only one terminal, Folkestone.

Might be worth noting, Sat navs that inform drivers of speed cameras in France have been made illegal...

On 3 January 2012 the French government issued a new law that effectively bans all systems that are able to provide warnings of safety cameras (aka speed cameras).
This law includes all sat nav based systems.
With immediate effect it has become illegal for anyone travelling in France to have any speed camera warnings on any device across the entire territory of France.

Please bear this in mind if you intend to use your sat nav whilst in France

This is what I have just had back from Francois, our French Buccaneer regaridng speed cameras etc:

    Normal 0 false false false EN-GB X-NONE X-NONE /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi; mso-fareast-language:EN-US;}

Things are quite complicated about speed cam detectors/jammers/warners.

Jammers and warners are forbidden as usual, but now navigators giving the precise position of speed cams are also prohibited.

Only systems giving "driving help" informations (zones of speed control) as now allowed (even if the definition is not clear to me).

So, if the database of your SatNav is compatible with the new restriction (approved by the government) it's OK.

If not, better put it under your seat !

It has been confirmed that the French group will organise a run for us on Sunday, designed to allow plenty of time to get back to the Tunnel

    IMPORTANT..................

In addition to the new speed detector laws it will also be a legal requirement to carry a breathalyser in your car while driving in France.

     Really looking forward to thisCool

Just a reminder to everyone to get an EHIC card before you go.

Hopefully you won't need it but they are free and you will be glad you did if the worst happens

Hi everyone that has booked for this trip. I am just trying to get some feedback on whether everyone would like me to try and find a restaurant where we can all eat together on the Saturday evening.

Please let me know either on here or by PM or email.

    Thanks
