 Hi Folks

The following list has been asked to be included in the calendar for next year from South East Members we are now upto 503 members in the South East , if you have an idea or wish to organise an event, please ask your AC so that it can be included in the calendar as an official OC event, please add you ideas to this forum and we will do our best to include them in the calendar for you. Also do not forget the Spring and National Rallies  and Silverstone that get added into the schedule. Already 2012 looking busy for the SE Area. We will try to fit as many events in that we can, dependant on dates, if we cannot do in 2012 then we will get it in for 2013.

36. Trip to McLaren (Woking) or Rolls Royce (Goodwood) factory (if they do tours).

38.  “Dad’s Day out at Dunsfold Park” – is a one day event, with super car rides on the Top Gear track available and they had a number of car clubs (static display) there (Planet MX5 were on the list but didn’t turn up). Please also if you have any new suggestions of pub meets for the area that can support parking for 30-40 cars has good reasonable priced food that you think people would enjoy let us know. We can link a run from this pub or end up at this pub.

sounds like a great list, I will try and support as many as possible. The gliding at Kent was awesome and East Sussex was just a suggestion for next year as centrally located in the region. If anyone is interested I can find out more information.

all looks good, and i'm bias on the Minis bay run!!

I'd definitely like to do the gliding again and East Sussex suits me better. I fancy the archery too.

I used to live in South West France and would be happy to organise an itinerary for that part of the world, maybe taking in the Pau historic Grand Prix and a trip to the Norman Foster-designed Millau viaduct - a good excuse to drive the beautiful Tarn river gorge road!

 Hi Folks

We now have 41 ideas so far  for 2012, if you are willing to take on board organising an event, please let either myself or Paul know this helps us too and gives people more enjoyment, it is easy just do a word document with the organised event details, and we will post it in the newsletter, forum and South East Events page for you, all you need to do is be in charge of the event for that day. I know many of you have stepped in and helped before and what fantastic days we have all enjoyed. It is sometimes nice for us A/C's to be at the back of the convoy, so if you fancy taking charge of one of the above events then let us know.

Quick update on the Gliding options and gauging interest. Group gliding is not available at East Sussex during weekends

Quote from the club:

"Our evening flying takes place on Tuesdays and most Thursdays from May to August. The evenings start at 1745 and finish at sunset. We take bookings for group sizes between 10 and 20 (max 16 in August). Larger groups will need two evenings.

We operate two gliders with BGA instructors and use a winch launch which will typically give 6 minutes in the air. During this time there will be the opportunity to fly the glider after a short demonstration.

There is no minimum age, (so children are welcome too as long as they too small that they slip through the safety belts - Therefore usually find that about 11 or 12 is the minimum age). There is no minimum weight but a maximum weight of 16 stone and height 6ft3.

A membership forms and medical declaration will need to be completed for each person that need to fly.

The cost this year was £22 per person. I expect that this might rise by £1 next year but price rises are not announced until 1st April, so bookings prior to that are honoured at the original price. There is also an option of a second flight at £10, time permitting."

Is there any interest in a weekday event next year?

I have also contacted Southdowns Gliding Club, which is near Pulborough, West Sussex. About as far West of the region as Kent was east!

I guess Eagle Heights Bird of Prey and Wildlife Center will be down to me - just give me preferred month or date.

This is mainly an outdoor event but they do do mini indoor display if wet - I don't think they have next years entry prices out yet but I will check on Wednesday - wont be much different to this year.
