Sad item on the local news!

I saw the following on the local BBC news website:

"A 42-year-old driver died when his car crashed on a Northumberland road.

The one-vehicle accident happened on the B1339 at Howick, near Alnwick, at 12:50 BST on Sunday.

The male driver of the silver Mazda MX5 convertible was driving northbound. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services.

A Northumbria Police spokeswoman said they were appealing for any witnesses to contact them."

Someone's sunday run ended tragically.  Have no idea how it happened.  the thought cossed my mind that we all like to "stretch" the MX a little from time to time perhaps a cautionary tale.

This is so sad, our deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

His name has been announced, Michael Frederick Pollard. I don't know if he was member of the OC or not but, as has already been said that doesn't matter, he was 'One of us'. He was with us at Croft last year.

The police are asking witnesses who saw the accident or saw three MX-5's in the area to come forward.

Our thoughts are for the family at this very tragic time, I lost my Aunt the same way in a road traffic accident and the shock for the family will be devastating.

Very sad and brings sad memories back
