Well, I'm a bit late this year - it was August when I got the ball rolling in 2010!!! Thanks to Janice and Anna who have both looked into some options for us to have a Christmas get together. I have spoken to a few members over the last few weeks and the general consensus seems to be that we keep the format the same as the last 2 years, i.e. make it our Wednesday meet in December and keep the cost below £15 a head. As we were all disappointed with The Clock last year I have looked elsewhere (although the manager said we could have the large function room and some wine I still though it would be difficult  to "sell" to you all) and think our best option is The Cadland, Chilwell http://www.emberinns.co.uk/thecadlandchilwell/ 

Three courses plus coffee and a mince pie are £12.95, briefly the choices are as follows:

Starters : Parsnip Soup, Breaded Mushrooms or Prawn Cocktail

Mains: Turkey, 8oz Rump Steak, Salmon Fillet or Cashew nut and Cheddar Bake.

Desserts : Xmas Pudd, Black Cherry Sundae or Chocolate Yule Log

The Cadland can fit at least 30 in, and probably more. They need us to pre order and include a £5 per head non refundable deposit.

So, over to you folks, let me know what you all think.

 I have now booked a table at The Cadland, 8pm on Wednesday 14th December. I have booked for 20 initially, and can and will add more if there is demand, until they say "stop"!

They don't require menu choices or deposit until mid November, so I will ask nearer the time - when we might feel a bit more Christmassy!
