Cool [H] MX-5 Owners Club 'Blyton Bash' The Original Thread

    Locked Reply Contact

It's Official; The MX-5 Owners Club will host a 3rd National Event in 2012 and this time it'll fully quench the thirst of the Club petrolheads, whilst offering something MX-5 for everyone.

    What:

A FULL weekend of motorsport-based activities including:

Open pit lane sessions, first-timer taster sessions, skid pan and car-control training zone, gymkana, rallycross flying laps, race car guest drivers and flying laps, motorsport-related vendors including brake, suspension and rollbar specialists to tempt you to part with your money and more, MUCH more, to follow!

    Is that it?

Nope, Sunday will see the Club make a serious attempt at the Guiness World Record for 'the most cars of the same type on track at once' - a record currently held by the German MX-5 Club!

    Is that it?

You want more? OK, how about a hog-roast, live band and fireworks on Saturday night, along with FREE camping (caravans and motorhomes also welcome) or, if a night under the stars isn't your thing, local hotels with Club discount and FREE transport to and from for those that would like to have a drinky or two. There will also be food and drink vendors open on both days from dawn till dusk to keep tummies topped-up.

So how much is this lot going to cost me?

£60 per day for a car and one driver or...

£100 for BOTH days for a car and one driver.

£30 for extra drivers (drivers wristbands allow a driver to drive any vehicle, not just their own).

£10 for passengers (passenger wristbands allow a passenger to ride in any vehicle they can scrounge a ride in!)

£10pp for the evening party, that includes the hog-roast, band and fireworks.

Attendance on either day as a spectator is FREE.

Participation in the Sunday World Record attempt is FREE.

    When:

    Saturday 30 Jun / Sunday 01 Jul 2012

    Where:

Blyton Park, North Lincolnshire. DN21 3PE. WEBSITE

What do I have to do?

Simply fill out the flyer in the April Soft Top Hardtop, attach a cheque and post it...Louise and I will do the rest, then simply turn up and ENJOY!!! Please don't send cheques early...we'll just spend your money on the family's Crimbo pressies Wink

    Info:

The Blyton Bash is open to all MX-5OC members; all drivers (including extra drivers) will be asked to show proof of their Membership card when signing-in. The flyer in Feb's STHT will ask for your car reg no and your membership no; this event is under-written by the Club and therefore it is only right that only Club Members reap the benefits, hence asking for these details.

The Motorsport activities at Blyton can only cater for 100 cars per day. Spectators and those attending to participate in the Sunday World Record attempt are free to come along on both Saturday and Sunday and, if they feel the urge, buy a £10 passenger wristband and scrounge a left hand seat ride!!!

What would you like me to do?

I can help out on the day or book as a regular.....

Your Choice...and well done for getting this agreed and off the ground.

And everyone else please make an BIG effort for this one as if it is not a success we could see motorsport and the MX5OC slide apart again

Do we want to be bettered by the MG , Lotus and Mini clubs......I think NOT!

    Looks brilliant

Forgive what may seem a daft question but

    where is Blyton Circuit?
I've checked Google Maps and there's a place called Blyton in Lincs.
Sorry but i really do not know the location of most tracks

Thanks in advance and apologies if it's there and i can't see the wood for the trees Wink
