Well all I can say to both Ben & Liz is this is exactly what I had hoped the Blyton Bash would become; an event to attract everyone, not just the track-day fraternity (for those I'm just preaching to the converted!)

Looking forward to this event and hearing the enthusiastic remarks of fellow Members makes the hassle of all the bookings, planning, phonecalls, quotes and requotes worthwhile!

See you all there Big Smile

Is there a way we can make payments other than by cheque?  Would we be able to pay by bank transfer?  I don't have any cheques, and I don't want to miss this!

There's a thread over http://www.mx5oc.co.uk/forum/forums/t/36047.aspx asking a similar question.  Suggest you drop a comment onto there, and see if we can persuade the chairman/treasurer to seriously think about having electronic payments for events (as I think you can do for membership renewals and shop purchases) at some point in the future.

I'm looking forward to this event though.  Even if I have to send the money by postal order...

It's not just a question of how fast the club wants your booking.

There is also the aspect of creating equal opportunity for all members. Simply pinging a Faster Payment the day an event is announced is great for some but not all and in most cases there is information the club requires for the event organisation and options for each member to choose, thus return of a form with a cheque/postal order is the best and fairest method.

I have updated the other thread with some similar info.

Sorry, I didn't mean it to mean that I wanted an advantage with getting a spot; it was just because I don't physically have a cheque book and I didn't want that to prevent me from attending.

I am of course happy to pay by postal order - that particular option didn't occur to me because I don't normally do that, I usually pay via BACS or Faster Payment.

    Cheers!

I'll definitely be down on the Sunday, still sorting Saturday out, and I hope to be dragging a few of the Tyne Tees lot down with me
