Greetings from a new member in Derby

Just thought I'd introduce myself briefly. I'm a new OC member, as I bought myself a Mk1 Mx5 a couple of weeks ago, and am going to be looking for help and advice while I'm doing it up!

Here's the car itself, which is a 1991 UK Mx5 1.6, which has done 120,000 miles. I bought it locally through an advert on another forum, needing a new clutch. I've sorted the clutch and given it a full service so now I'm waiting until March 1st to get it on the road (so I get a full month's tax!)...

    browno's Mk1

It has an older MX5OC sticker in the windscreen - so I assume it's an ex-OC car... Is it known to anyone on here? From the huge history file I got with it, the car spent much of it's earlier life down south (around Reading then Bournemouth) before moving up to Bolton and then to it's last owner in Derby...

My plan for it is to get it looking and driving well, ready for a summer trip to Le Mans in June and some general summer fun!

Re: Greetings from a new member in Derby

Thanks all for the warm welcome, and glad I chose the right car (I'm sure red's fastest!).

I am closer to getting it on the road - it's now insured and going to be taxed from the 1st, and I've sorted out removing the quickshift from it tonight - which IMO ruined the gearchange completely...

Once I'm sorted and the weather's better I'll certainly be getting to some of the NEM area meets - and I'll look forward to meeting some of you there...
