Wikipedia quotes "the steeplechase originated in Ireland in the 18th century as an analogue to cross country thoroughbred horse races which went from church steeple to church steeple, hence "Steeplechase".
So why not join us on our very own ER version (without the race bit... or in fact the horses) and get the New Years events off to a good start.
Rather than jumping hedges and ditches you will be driving between them from village to village checking out the church names and steeple types and in so doing visiting som of Suffolk's less known villages.
We will meet in the main car park in Magdalen Rd Hadleigh (behind the Co-Op store) at 10:00 where a basic map and list of villages will be given to you, together with some advice and instructions. Cars will then leave in batches of 2-3 at 5 minute intervals from 10:30.
The use of Sat Navs other than in a dire emergency will be frowned upon.
The drive should take approx 2,1/2- 3 hours and will end in Hintlesham where you may wish to join us for lunch at :-
The George.
George Street, Hintlesham.
