Re: MX-5 Owners Club 'Blyton Bash' - Who's Coming???

Yes i will be driving up from J2 on the m40  but ill be leaving at about 12 in the afternoon since i have a meeting on the way.

I've used lots of differnt routes depends on the time of day.

M25/M1 come off at the jt 31 and join the M18 and then A631

I like my radom route of up the M1 accross A421 and then back on the A1 its a bit longer in time but its seem to have less traffic most of the time

But we some time use the A43 from the M1 to the M40

Just depends on the time of day and with the traffice last time i went up on friday at 4 and that was a stupid idea M1 blocked, A1 blocked so i went A and B road blasting and got very lost but found some lovely roads.

Re: MX-5 Owners Club 'Blyton Bash' - Who's Coming???

spenty 1 hour loading the suzuki up last night.

spent 3 hours washing anglesey mud of No42 getting the trailer off and reloaded..a sweaty old job when im on my own !!

fill the inside with toolboxes and gazebo.

I didn't bother washing UMA its all a bit of a waste really..But I did take her out to see how the standard (old) discs felt after I spoted a few cracks in the drilled ones (I wonder why?)

Not as good as normal but enough to get her locking up. R888's on the trailer for if it stays dry.

Oil and water all Ok and 2 spare charger belts...just incase.

    Still left to do

Load all of Ma's Bars gear, the food and fridge and lastly a nice bag of ice cold beers.

    Then im done for tommorow.

Oooo nearly forgot Charge the camera and the lap top for downloading data at the end of the day.

No42 will do 0-60 in 6.4 and UMA in 6.5.Anyone else want to find what their car is capable of just come find me.

You wont be able to find out untill the data is downloaded at the end of the day.

The car is now packed, I managed to get the tent, sleeping bags, stove, kettle, the brew kit, my bag, my daughter Ruth's bag and a case of beer in the boot. The sleeping matts are behind the passanger seat and the folding chairs and crash helmet are on the parcle shelf, the only thing I wanted to bring that I will have leave behind is a folding table but there was just no more space.

Now just one night and the small matter of a 10 hour shift on Friday before I can pick Ruth up from her works experiance and start the 200 mile drive, lets hope the traffic angles are on my side as I hate putting up tents in the dark. Still it could be worse my other driver Richard is bringing the pickup truck with the tools, heavy gear, his partner and 1 of his lads from Poole and does not thing he will get to leave until 20:30.

    HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGIAN.

folding chairs and crash helmet are on the parcle shelf,

I'm determined to travel roof down!  As such helmets are taking far too much room in boot!  All camping stuff packed, bar the beer though!! May be looking to set a new record max number of bottles of beer in a Mk2 glove box...

Drivers brief at 8am, there's always one or two that are late, we can play catch-up but if you miss the sighting laps you may have to wait until after the lunchtime auto-test.

Good luck, and hope you make it in time...

Late comers can usually do sighting laps as a passenger

    Not necessary to drive them.

    Most tdo's accept that

With a bungge to the cabin brace bar I can run with the roof up / or down (does take a couple of mins to move everything around). As I am going most of the way on the M1 I will proberbly keep it up until I get to the A roads after junction 30.
