    Daily driver

Hi, I bought my Mk1 Merlot last August and I drive it every day, rain or shine for work and pleasure. I do have another car, but I take my MX5 every time unless I really have to carry more than 2 people or pick up "stuff" from B&Q for example.

This got me to thinking, how many are Daily Drivers and how many are Weekend Warriors or Fine Weather Flyers?

     OK I admit it - my MX5 is my day-day transport ...

AND I pick up stuff from B & Q - you can get 3 bags of thier farmyard manure in the boot ...

State of hair when driving with roof off no longer a problem

Had my J1 5 years now an it is still my daily drive probably 80% of the time, love it. Occasionally I use my hack V Spec or my 323F if I need to haul stuff.

    Re: Daily driver

I use mine as much as I can.  Although at the moment she is waiting on a Cam belt/water pump change. Doing this on Friday.

Can not drive her very far at the moment, water pump leaking.

use mine every day, rain or shine (but never in the dreaded snow)...makes the journey to work a pleasure....can just about squeeze a set of golf clubs (boot) and an electric trolley (passenger seat/footwell) in at the weekend...have used it on a couple of supermarket trips and found i had to put the roof up to get it all in !...never again !

    Re: Daily driver

Every day - rain, wind, fog, sun but not had snow yet.  But it will come!

Even done the weekly shop in it a few times - an excellent way to restrict the amount Mrs CambsMaz spends!  A copule of times she has had to put one of the shopping bags on her lap.  She was not amused.

For larger items I use her Fiat 500 - that has an even smaller boot space than the MX5 but is blessed with being able to put the rear seat down.

    Re: Daily driver

Mine is my daily driver but I do have access to the family car (7 seat Nissan Terrano) or if going out in a slightly larger group my wifes 9 seat minibus.

    All three have their place.

The 5 is my first choice and unless it is activly raining the roof is down.

The Nissan is for family transport, tip / B&Q runs, caravan towing.

The Minibus is my wifes for work.
