    Halfshaft removal...

    Can it be done without having to drain the diff oil? 

    I've just done a full subframe refurb and had to buy a second hand halfshaft after mashing the end of the old one getting it out of the hub carrier. Turns out the 'new' one has been disengaged at the inner CV and now I dont have any drive. I have to remove the shaft to fix it but I dont really want to drain the diff as I'll have to get fresh oil and new washers (again). Any suggestions appreciated.
