sorry to start a new thread but I need a bit of advice about the airbag on our MX5 mk2 RS roadster and since my MOT is iminent I could do with some urgent advice.
Stripped the airbag out drivers side and cannot locate where a loose connection can be causing my air bag light to flash. I am only getting the airbag light flashing 6 pulses which is drivers side airbag. I have cured the passenger side by cleaning up the connections on the connector plug.
The connector on the drivers side is tight and seems to make a good connection. But I get the airbag light flashing still now if I hit the bottom of the steering cowel the light goes off so it has to be a dodgy connection. So I am guessing it could be related to the clock spring thingy. This does seem loose in its position.
I was thinking of getting a good one off ebay to replace it. So my question is are they idenitcal for all MK2's? Ours is an import and the indicators are on the different side to the UK models. So can I just buy one off ebay for a MK2 and it will fit or are they UK/import/model specific?
Am I on the right track with this? Cannot think what esle could be a loose connection.
