    Polish in my Mohair Roof!

Well as usual damage has been done to my car but not by me!  This sort of thing seems to happen a lot. Either the car gets hit whist parked or someone drives into you. Or vandalised etc etc.

This time though I got my car back after it being repaired by a reputable garage only to find that when they have been machine polishing it they managed to get polish on the mohair roof.  Does anyone have any idea how I can remove it please?

I presume garages etc just do this sort of thing all the time and I must be the only person who gives a sh*t or notices!

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Simon

You could try using a nail type brush and water to see if that will remove it. If not than the cleaner that comes with the Autoglym roof reproofing kit should do the job. You may need to do the whole roof to prevent a difference in colour and then reproof so 2 jobs done at the same time.Hope this helps.

    Cheers.

Raymond at `Jack Smith Trimmers` recommends hot water and Fairy Liquid for cleaning the Mohair roofs he makes, if you are planning to use a nail brush on it, try to work only in the direction of the weave to avoid `fluffing-up` the cloth, rinse very thoroughly and re-proof once fully dryThumbs up

I have just had a look on the auto glym website and it says you can cover with a hot towel and draw it out.

I am just wondering if a steam cleaner might do the same thing?

Do you think steam might damage the roof?
